About this ebook

From New York Times bestselling author Laurie Halse Anderson

High school senior Tyler Miller used to be the kind of guy who faded into the background. But since he got busted for doing graffiti on the school, and spent the summer doing outdoor work to pay for it, he stands out like you wouldn't believe. His new physique attracts the attention of queen bee Bethany Milbury, who just so happens to be his father's boss's daughter, the sister of his biggest enemy, and Tyler's secret crush. And that sets off a string of events and changes that have Tyler questioning his place in school, in his family, and in the world.

"Poignant and gripping." —Kirkus Reviews, starred review

I have been a huge fan of LHA since I first read Wintergirls. She is an amazing author. But needless to say I was actually quiet skeptical of this novel due in part that the main character is a boy, Tyler Miller, but yet again LHA drew me into the book, taking me on a journey that I won't soon forget. Tyler Miller recently got into some trouble with the law as his junior year prank went wrong, he got caught spray painting the school and was forced to do some community service. After this he was transformed from a nobody to someone that everyone knew. All the work he did with the janitors during the summer gave him a new physique, which attracts the attention of a girl that he has a secret crush on, whom is also the sister of his biggest enemy. This is an amazing book that deals with heavy issues as many of Anderson's books, such as dealing with issues of trying to find identity, Tyler's hectic home life to say the least, and thoughts of suicide. Tyler's character haunted me when I tried to put down the book before I finished the novel, needless to say I was up late into the night finishing the book. I simply could not put it down. Laurie Halse Anderson's books are great if you have not read any of them yet I would recommend any of them. This book to me is a MUST read, but I will warn you it does have weighty issues and some scenes kept me on the edge of my seat reading as fast as I could.

I absolutely loved it. This is one of my all time favorite authors and she has outdone herself once more. The plot and story Line is amazing and she really kept me on the edge of my seat, let alone the depth and layers of her charecter. Giving this book five stars is an understatement!💓💖💘
