About this ebook

A “dangerously, darkly gorgeous fantasy” (Cassandra Clare), from New York Times bestselling author Holly Black.

Cassel comes from a family of curse workers—people who have the power to change your emotions, your memories, your luck, all by the slightest touch of their hands. Since curse work is illegal, they’re all criminals. But not Cassel. He hasn’t got the magic touch, so he’s an outsider—the straight kid in a crooked family—as long as you ignore one small detail: He killed his best friend, Lila. Now he is sleepwalking, propelled into the night by terrifying dreams about a white cat. He also notices that his brothers are keeping secrets from him. As Cassel begins to suspect he’s part of one huge con game, he must unravel his past and his memories. To find out the truth, Cassel will have to outcon the conmen.

There were times, when I was sort of confused ( It took me a while to figure out what a Worker was ), and some things in it just annoyed me. But somethings in the book, made me keep on reading on, like trying to figure out why Cassel Sharpe had killed his best friend Lila Zacharov. I'm not a big fan of Holly Black but this was one of her better reads.

This book, and series is different than all the author's previous faerie books. This book takes place in our world, with fantasy stuff padded in. When I think of Holly Black, I think of enthralling story lines and likable, detailed, well described main characters, that you cant help but be sucked into. She doesn't disappointed in "White Cat." I stayed up late into the night several times, because I could not put this down.

At the beginning it was kind of boring but as the story progressed, it got very interesting. Good book! I'd give it a 4.9 overall
