I'm not to sure how to rate this book... It was very strange in places... Told mainly from 2 points of view... Catherine a 23 year old and then Rose an 80 odd year old writer of children's books... Rose has dementia and is in a care home where Catherine works but when it flicked to Roses turn to be giving her say in the chapters she would flit from age 10 back to 83 without warning due to her dementia and it took me a while to get used to it but on the whole fairly easy to follow and a short read... Very comical in places... Had a very unexpected ending which I won't spoil... From me it's a 3 star 🌟🌟🌟🤗👍 Would be very curious to find out what others think..??.. 😉

Helen FitzGerald is one of thirteen children and grew up in Victoria, Australia. She now lives in Glasgow with her husband and two children. Helen has worked as a social worker for over ten years. She has published four other novels with Faber: Dead Lovely, My Last Confession, The Donor and most recently The Cry, which was longlisted for the Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year.
