In the cloud-washed airspace between the cornfields of Illinois and blue infinity, a man puts his faith in the propeller of his biplane. For disillusioned writer and itinerant barnstormer Richard Bach, belief is as real as a full tank of gas and sparks firing in the cylinders...until he meets Donald Shimoda--former mechanic and self-described messiah who can make wrenches fly and Richard's imagination soar....
In Illusions, the unforgettable follow-up to his phenomenal bestseller Jonathan Livingston Seagull, Richard Bach takes to the air to discover the ageless truths that give our souls wings: that people don't need airplanes to soar...that even the darkest clouds have meaning once we lift ourselves above them... and that messiahs can be found in the unlikeliest places--like hay fields, one-traffic-light midwestern towns, and most of all, deep within ourselves.

The writing style is very different. Very expressive but in an unusual way. Hard to understand the context at times. The whole book's idea progressed well but never got to a climax. I expected brighter and more beautiful things from the handbook.

This book has been my guiding light all these years.. I read it during my teens now and it shaped my thinking about myself, religion and the world around me. Just like the protagonist, i have found all my answers in the handbook. I have bought numerous copies of this book and then handed over to friends and family, who needed the help and support this book can provide. I still have both an online copy of this book and a hard copy and i still refer to this book when i feel the need..

The setting is the messiah in modern days.caughtes you off guard. with it's comical descriptions throughout the whole book. once one starts reading it. you simply can't put it down until you finish it and then want to read it over and over. the meaning is clear and precise with the messiah Operating in a advanced age of humanity and society. I still think of this book often after all these years since I first encountered this book in my very early years. was simply taken aback by it's simplicity and humor. possibly the best book I've ever read and such awesome meaning and humor. PACKED INTO. SUCH A THIN,SHORT READ BOOK. BOOK IS SO THIN AND SMALL BUT THE MESSAGE IS ABSOLUTELY 💯 HUGH IN MEANING, HUMOR SIMPLICITY. ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE AND POSSIBLY THE BEST OF ANY BOOK I'VE EVER READ!!! OUT OF THIS WORLD READING AND ABSOLUTELY 💯 CAPTIVATING!!!!!
