About this movie

Based on a miraculous true story about the power of faith, Captive is an amazing, inspiring drama about the spiritual collision of two lost souls. Brian Nichols (Golden Globe Nominee David Oyelowo), on the run from police and desperate to make contact with his newborn son, takes recently widowed mother Ashley Smith (Emmy Nominee Kate Mara) hostage in her own apartment. Fearing for her life and desperately hoping to see her daughter again, she turns to Rick Warren's The Purpose Driven Life for guidance. Ashley and her captor face a crossroads where they discover hope and light in the midst of despair in the incredible film the Dove Foundation hailed as “powerful”.

Heard about this movie from a youtube video of Rick Warren. It was pretty disappointing in my opinion. Expectations certainly didn't live up to what it was in reality. Like another reviewer said, it ended in a whimper rather than a bang, and the lady who supposedly changed this guy's life so much, certainly wasn't portrayed as so life-changing in the film. I think the plot failed big time, and you come away from the film thinking 'well, that was pretty average'. I didn't enjoy it.

Boring Af movie. 2 person 1 house. Talk and talk and talk. Lots of talking. Total bs movie tbh. Cheapest production i have ever watched.

Må var verklighet, men att tycka att gud gjorde något är bra korkat. Amerikanska samhället borde ta på sig större ansvar.
