Season 3 episodes (15)

1 Haunted Forest/Alux
9/9/09
In one of their most hair-raising experiences to date, Josh and team travel to Romania to investigate paranormal activity in the Hoia Baciu woods. According to local authorities, the forest is home to numerous sightings of apparitions and fleeting beams of light. In addition, these experts have remained puzzled about the presence of a "crop circle" in the forest. After a nearly fatal flight that ends in an emergency landing, the crew is finally able to investigate. The chilling nighttime endeavor is fraught with challenges, and later, Josh asks Ghost Hunters Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson to lend a hand during the analysis. In the second investigation, the team heads to the Yucatán to explore the myth of the Alux, a pygmy- like creature reported by Maya people. Josh leads the crew on a trek deep into remote caves to hunt for the truth behind this ancient legend.
2 Island Of The Dolls/Lusca
9/16/09
South of Mexico City in the last of the old Aztec canals, there is an island that visitors claim is overrun by thousands of haunted dolls. The dolls were hung up to ward off the spirit of a young girl who had drowned in a canal while visiting the island. Don Julian, the caretaker, was found dead in the same canal. Now, locals claim his spirit also haunts the island. Josh and team's chilling nighttime pursuit amongst the throng of sinister dolls yields some of their most compelling on-camera evidence yet! From there, the crew dives headfirst into the deep waters surrounding Andros Island in the Bahamas in search of the most feared monster in the ocean - the eight-legged Lusca, a creature said to lurk in the region's menacing underwater labyrinth of caves and tunnels, far below the stunning scenery above sea level. Josh, a scuba enthusiast always up for the next diving adventure, gears up to investigate.
3 King Tut's Curse/Swamp Ape
9/23/09
Josh and team head to Egypt, where they set out to make history as one of the only production crews in the world permitted to investigate inside King Tut's tomb at night. The dangerous expedition has led to the untimely deaths of many who attempted it in the decades since the tomb's discovery, and conditions prove to be no easier for the Destination Truth crew, who must battle illnesses and a sandstorm before collecting evidence of the paranormal in the sinister depths of the famed sepulcher. Then, the crew embarks on another unprecedented journey for the show's first-ever U.S.-based investigation: the search for a swamp ape living in the Florida Everglades.
4 Ghosts Of Chernobyl/Sal'Awa
9/30/09
In this chilling episode, the team embarks on a paranormal investigation at the desolate site of the world's worst nuclear accident: the Chernobyl power plant, located in what is now the Ukraine. The tragic disaster in 1986 resulted in numerous deaths, and today, some locals living on the edge of the disaster zone tell stories about apparitions of the deceased still present, particularly in the abandoned town of Pripyat, the former home for the Chernobyl workers. The Destination Truth crew is the first film crew ever to obtain permits and film inside the Chernobyl reactor zone overnight. Ghost Hunters Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson make a guest appearance to help analyze the team's footage. Then, the team heads to the blistering sands of Cairo, Egypt, where locals claim to be attacked by a monstrous canine creature thirsty for human blood: the Sal'awa.
5 Alien Mummies/Van Lake Monster
10/7/09
Josh and team embark on their first UFO investigation in Chile, where, according to experts, an alien mummy was exhumed in the desert thousands of miles south of Lima. The stretch of land in between is believed to be swarming with extraterrestrial activity. Locals also claim to see live aliens wandering around in the dark, mysterious lights in the sky and disembodied voices. Then, Josh and the team engage in a fishing trip they won't ever forget: something massive may be lurking in a lake in Van, Turkey. The lake, nearly the size of Rhode Island, is supposedly home to an animal that that measures more than 40 feet long, with dark scaly skin and a long spiny back. During a search on the lake's surface, Josh catches something long, and serpentine on the thermal imagery monitor. The team returns to the US and takes their findings to a professor at Santa Barbara for analysis.
6 Chullachaqui/Bermuda Triangle
10/14/09
Joined by special guest stars Robb Demarest and Dustin Pari from Ghost Hunters International, Josh and team make their way to the jungles of Peru, where a terrifying creature resembling a gremlin is reportedly terrorizing the locals. Then, Josh and his team take on the age-old legend of the Bermuda Triangle, an area in the Atlantic Ocean infamous for pulling planes out of the sky and swallowing ships into the sea. It is believed that the triangle's strange energy vortexes appear at the same locations again and again, so the team plans to chart a direct course through each known coordinate where ships and planes have disappeared. As a result, they manage to collect a phenomenal amount of evidence, including strong electromagnetic disturbances and a mysterious image on their IR camera.
7 Haunted Lost City/Thunderbird
10/21/09
The team heads into the rugged mountains of Peru to investigate claims that the Incan ruins there are haunted. Shrouded in the Andes mountains, the Incan city disappeared half a millennia ago: the residents reportedly buried their gold in the tunnels underneath the city and committed suicide before the Spanish conquistadors could invade. The investigation yields such compelling audio and visual evidence that Josh calls on expert analysts Steve Gonsalves and Dave Tango from Ghost Hunters to determine whether the Lost City is still inhabited with spirits. Then, the team takes their adventures to Alaska, where locals claim a giant winged bird is terrorizing their community. A nocturnal creature said to be part bird, part reptile, the "Thunderbird" has recently been sighted soaring high over the Alaskan landscape by local pilots. Josh and crew set out for a sub-zero exploration of the arctic terrain.
8 Werewolf/Arica Monster
10/28/09
The team travels to Romania, chasing recent reports about werewolf sightings. During a search of a nearly abandoned village, the team hears a disembodied howling noise, spot eyes watching them through the trees, and make a cast of canine prints to take back to the States for analysis. Then, the team flies to northern Chile to track down what some believe to be an ancient creature that managed to survive extinction. Reports include sightings of a dinosaur-like creature with a 3-toed foot, an extremely quick gait and sharp teeth. Josh and crew investigate the desert region, and are able to collect evidence of several large footprints matching the description of the locals' claims.
9 Bhutan Yeti
11/4/09
In the fall finale, Josh and the rest of the Destination Truth crew travel to Bhutan, Nepal to continue their search of the Yeti, after their exciting discovery of a mysterious footprint during a past investigation. This timeless myth proves once again to yield fruitful results for the team, and they return to the United States with more startling evidence of the elusive creature.
10 Ghosts of Masada/The Leprechaun
3/17/10
Destination Truth returns with brand new episodes! Josh and the crew head to Jerusalem in search of ghosts at Masada. What serves as a major tourist site by day, the ancient location is rarely visited at night. A thousand people committed suicide on the mountain trying to escape troops from the Roman Empire and many believe their spirits still haunt the tragic site. There have been countless claims of large black masses lurking around the area, as well as soft eerie voices being carried in the wind. No one has been given permission to camp out on the historical peak, but the Destination Truth crew has been granted full access. The team will also investigate the oldest synagogue in the world and may have to call on another paranormal duo to sift through the evidence. Next they'll head to the green hills of Ireland to investigate the legend of the famous leprechaun!
11 Ghosts of the Great Wall/Israeli Mermaid
3/24/10
The Destination Truth team travels to the Great Wall of China to investigate reports of ghostly encounters with soldiers and over a million people that have died in the shadows of one of the world's most recognizable icons. Josh and the crew battle the elements and the challenges of scaling an ancient monument. Bobby and Rex retain some startling findings during an EVP session that shock the team. Josh has his first physical encounter with an unseen entity, of which he brings footage back to the Ghost Hunters to examine. Next up, the team heads to Tel Aviv and surrounding coastal cities to explore the reports of mermaids in the Mediterranean. There is a one million dollar reward to be able to prove the existence of the mythological creature. However, rough waters and poor visibility make it a dangerous dive. Once the crew recovers from some early miscues, some rest and a good sense of humor seem to help their luck and spirits. A night dive proves to give the most encouraging signs in their pursuit of these Sirens of the sea.
12 The Jersey Devil/The Yeren
3/31/10
The Destination Truth team travels stateside in order to investigate one of the oldest legendary creatures in the country. For over 300 years, people on the eastern seaboard have been telling the tale of the infamous and frightening Jersey Devil that lurks over the heavily forested Pine Barrens in the Garden State. Josh and the crew talk to eyewitnesses and are given what are believed to be biological remains of what is described as a massive, red-eyed beast with a wingspan of over ten feet. With the help of the Ghost Hunters' Kris Williams, they organize the first-ever aerial investigation to see for themselves if they can piece this puzzle together.

Next, the team heads to China in search of what is believed to be the cousin of Bigfoot. Known to the locals as the Yeren, or Wildman, the search for this mammoth man has become the first and only government-sanctioned search in the world. With claims of footprints and hair samples from the of the 8-foot tall creature as their starting point, Josh and his team search the tourist-restricted Stone Forest in search of a monster that reportedly is prone to attacking humans. Their goal: to search the mountains and caves to be the first to provide photographic proof of the behemoth that is as big as its legend.
13 Haunted Mining Town/The Taniwha
4/7/10
The Destination Truth team heads to an abandoned mining town in northern Chile to investigate leads of its haunting history. Believed to have one of the scariest cemeteries on Earth, the town is said to have the dead rise from their graves at night and walk back into the city, where most of the locals have had some sort of paranormal encounter. These suffering energies are traced back by many to the poor treatment of the workers from the mine akin to slavery as the mining barons profited from their suffering. Warehouse 13's Allison Scagliotti joins the crew in a special guest appearance.

Next on the itinerary, Josh and his crew take a trip to Northern New Zealand to explore the claims of a dangerous aquatic creature in the volcanic lakes. Known as the Taniwha, this ten-foot, milky white-skinned beast is believed to be both protector of its habitat and destroyer of all that crosses its path. As the Truth team begins its search for the serpentine water creature but without knowing what it is exactly, locals only warn that it should be feared. After a meeting with the Maori tribe, many more sightings by the tribes people shines a light on possible locations known to be sacred to the tribe. Will the tribe's spiritual union with nature put the people of New Zealand at ease or give a whole new meaning to the Shaky Isles?
14 Ghosts of Petra/The Lizard Man
4/14/10
The Destination Truth team makes their way to the beautiful city of Petra, Jordan, where they explore sightings of what the locals call Djinns: ghosts that are believed to possess humans and live in the dark recesses of ancient burial chambers. Josh and the crew attempt to make sense of all the paranormal encounters in the Treasury Tomb that has become a symbol of the mysterious, ancient city. Ghost Hunters' Jason and Grant are enlisted to help analyze the results, some of the clearest audio evidence the team has captured yet. Next, the team heads to Bishopville, South Carolina to investigate a complaint from the townspeople that a monster - known as the Lizard Man - is on the loose terrorizing the town's residents and their vehicles.
15 Spirits of Easter Island/The Moa
4/21/10
The crew heads down to Easter Island to conduct the world's most remote paranormal investigation. Before the investigation even begins, the team must go on a journey to be accepted by the island's spirits. If successful, they will gain access to the 800 scattered throughout the island. Eerie shadows and voices give Josh and company pause, as they will be tested by the leaders of years gone by. Next up for the team is a trip back to New Zealand to explore the claims of the return of the Moa. First considered extinct in the late 1500's, these massive birds are the largest flightless birds in history. Vicious and powerful, these large creatures have reportedly been spotted throughout southern New Zealand. Bones, feathers, and large prints help them inch closer to a big re-discovery. It's not all serious business though: Josh and Ryder wager a bet as to whether or not she can capture a sheep on the majestic foothills along the way.

About this show

Every week, Josh Gates, a world adventurer and eager truth-seeker, and his small crew of production buddies visit a different international destination alleged to be the home of a notorious, supernatural or mysterious creature, such as the Chilean Chupacabra, as well as some lesser-known phenomena, such as the dinosaur-like creatures reported in the skies over Papua New Guinea, a haunted village in Thailand and the wolfman of Argentina. Josh searches for evidence to either prove or debunk these stories by talking to witnesses and experts and immersing himself in the local culture.

As an investigator I must say you barely ever catch evidence on film. So many people want to scream fake without actually experiencing any paranormal things in their life. Josh Gates and his team started investigating before there was a show, though they only did stuff in the United States, they had the experience to provide for a show world wide. Cuddos to the Destination Truth team. Good luck on your future investigations. From the Eldora Paranormal Research team :)

It was a fun show and josh was a blast (even if it was a little hokey at times). I'd still be watching (and now buying) if it was still around. I guess you aren't supposed to like anything that isn't profitable enough for someone. I used to watch it on cable tv but when we cut back on our cable service I started buying the eps I had missed. I was crazy about Ryder too (hope I got the name right as I haven't watched DT in awhile).
