Plus, the "Brew Dogs" harvest their own local honey, invent a beer-inspired caramel corn called "hopcorn," and convert some craft beer virgins!
5 Durango
7/23/14
It's a glass from the past! Martin and James travel back in time to brew an "ancient modern ale" using the techniques and tools that natives would've had in the area 1,000 years ago. To keep it authentic, they'll grind their own malted corn, harvest pine nuts from towering treetops, and make custom clay pots to hold their precious concoction. With the help of Ska Brewing president Dave Thibodeau, can the Brew Dogs make the ghosts of Mesa Verde National Park proud?
6 Northern California
7/30/14
Who said road trip? James and Martin rent an RV and embark on an unforgettable tour of Wine Country and beyond. With master brewer companions from Sierra Nevada and Bear Republic in tow, the "Brew Dogs" stomp grapes on a vineyard, milk cows on a dairy farm, and make a pilgrimage to the Pope of Foam, UC Davis professor Charlie Bamforth. With the help of some "Breaking Bad"-style chemistry, the foursome hatch a crazy plan to brew the greatest Northern California beer collaboration of all time! Does their lactose-fueled milk stout make the grade? Find out!
7 Hawaii
8/6/14
Aloha! James and Martin capture the sweet island life of Hawaiian in a brew boiled using super-heated lava rocks. With the help of Maui Brewing Company founder Garrett Merrero, the duo set off to harvest local coconut and sugar cane for a sweet Imperial golden ale that's fit for a luau. See if their caramelized concoction gains the approval of Maui's beer lovers or gets them sent packing.
8 Alaska
8/13/14
James and Martin visit remote Juneau, Alaska, and then travel deeper into the wilderness to brew the ultimate Alaskan survival beer. Using spare parts from a pontoon plane as a makeshift brewing kit, they set off with the help of Steve from Alaskan Brewing Co. to forage local ingredients and collect genuine glacier ice. But without any native hops, can the Brew Dogs find a tasty substitute out in the middle of nowhere? Time to get resourceful!
9 New Orleans
8/20/14
The boys arrive in the Crescent City with a plan to capture its revival spirit by bringing back an extinct beer style using local ingredients. That means visiting Warner Farms to pick fresh mayhaws from the orchard, having Roses of Jericho blessed by a voodoo priestess, and devising a four-water filtration system so that they can pump genuine Louisiana swamp water into their kettles. See if their Peeterman style NOLA brew breathes new life into an old classic or is declared dead on arrival.
10 Los Angeles
8/27/14
James and Martin head to L.A., the home-brewing capital of America to face off head-to-head to make the ultimate SoCal beer. Using quintessential California ingredients citrus and sage, the boys set off with their home-brewing partners to brew some wild concoctions. But everyone is thrown for a loop when a secret ingredient is added to the mix: avocado! Can they handle the curveball and seize the chance to showcase their beer at the famous Golden Road Brewery on the line?

Love the show! It's like seeing the Food Network and the History Channel focused on one thing. . . Good Beer, not your average run of the mill brews.

The pace and structure ofvthe show make it a travel show, a food show & a how-to show all in one. The cast is fantastic and quirky and manage to interact with every city's denizens in a way that is genuine and curious rather than staged or plastic. Cheers!
