I loved the movie so I was somewhat skeptical about a TV adaptation but I was hooked from the first episode. It's so intricately plotted but stays true to the story. I cannot imagine what the writer's room looked like but I imagine that the walls were plastered with notes about the various timelines and characters. With all due respect to the writers, directors, and designers, I have to give credit to the cast. I had never heard of Aaron Stanford, Amanda Schull, or Emily Hampshire before this but they're amazing, as is Kirk Acevedo. However, the truly monumental performance for me is Barbara Sukowa. She's been a movie star for years in Germany and now I know why.

Everything that comes out of the SyFy Channel, i've always , I've always approached with caution. This year, they released "Childhood's End" and I found that TV movie pretty good. With "12 Monkeys"... This show is surprisingly really good and it is easily one of my favorite sci-fi shows on TV. I hope they get extended for more seasons. I love the stories, the thrills and the suspense and using time to drive the plot. The concepts of the Primaries, Messengers, the Witness, Temporal Storms, etc. are interesting. Last night's episode was kick-ass and I really, really hope this show stays around longer.

To me this is one of the best shows going. Its the first show that I can remember that gives me that "thought provoking, want to read the forums to see what other people are thinking" feeling since LOST. Time travel movies and shows have always interested me. 12 Monkeys series tops the list easily of the genre in my opinion. Such creative writing that really gets complicated by season 2. It's the subtle events in scenes that really make it all connect, or at least helps it connect. The attention to detail from the writers is amazing. If you are looking for a show that you can immerse yourself into that keeps you thinking long after you have watched it....this is worth a look. Perfection!
