About this show

Combining uncompromising historical accuracy with compelling mysteries, this original PBS Masterpiece Theatre mystery series stars Michael Kitchen (Out of Africa) as Detective Chief Inspector Christopher Foyle. Set in the beautiful southern English countryside amid the disorder and danger of World War II, Foyle's War takes place far from the glory of the front. His is an ordinary struggle-against everyday evil-in extraordinarily dangerous times.

The writer Anthony Horowitz does not receive sufficient credit for his intricate, thought provoking scripts. On par with Morse but that blighter was such a prick--and Christopher Foyle is most certainly not.

I can't say enough about this series. Great characters, great writing, great plots! This particular episode was very moving--so much pain in so many lives. I just finished watching and I feel like I can't even speak. I need a moment...

Also I can't get enough of Mr. Foyle! I watch it on Danish TV. I think it is the fourth time I see all episodes. The sad part is, this coming monday they show series 9, Episode Elise. This is the last episode. So no more Mr. Foyle for this time!
