About this show

What if the world was full of superheroes who aren’t actually heroic at all? What if all their “powers” were just one more excuse for mischief, mayhem, murder, and endorsement deals? Enter the men and women of the Powers Division, the brave people in charge of protecting humans like us and keeping the peace over commercialized, god-like men and women who glide through the sky imposing their power over the mortals who both worship and fear them. Based on the graphic novel by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming, the edgy and dramatic POWERS follows the lives of two homicide detectives, Christian Walker (Sharlto Copley, District 9) and Deena Pilgrim (Susan Heyward, TV’s “The Following"), who are assigned to investigate these cases.

I enjoyed this. Powers is not without its faults (e.g., the writers often threw in the 'f-word' in an attempt to add edge but it just made those bits of dialog painful), but made up for it in many ways. For one, these are real super-heroes not the license restricted "inhumans" in Agents of Shield. The characters felt real, their motivations and faults were endearing, and the plot lines were interesting. Yes, it's yet another super-hero series among many but "Powers" is fun. I hope someone picks it up for a third season.

At first I couldn't remember where I first seen this series. Then I watched it & it brought me back. This series although i didn't get to watch the entire season, still thought that it was an amazingly different spin & take on da whole super hero world. The leading man cast Diamond is awesome as always! I first was introduced to this actor from the outstanding & creative writing of the British TV. This is worth da time &excitement of those who like & crave 4 anything super powers. Me I'm all 4 da good guys!

Even getting it free via PSN didn't make it worth it. I kept hoping it'd improve, but it kept trying to be a better show than it was. The acting was fine, the story and characters were just dumb. And they really could've spent more on the horrible CG.
