This show has everything a hard core drama sci fi fan could want. Beautiful settings, albit a bit dark, all the color tones are sandy and dark and gives that vibe that this is meant to give a sense of realism in this post ap. type show. Julie B is a treasure to have on this show! Love her in almost anything she's in and happy she's back in the sci fi genre again. I think personally for me, and forgive me if I haven't gotten names down yet, but the wife of the gangster , her role and how she "handles" her husband superb. I like my taste in women like that, beautiful and very smart, looks at the big picture, and just love the fact her husband apprieates her "view of thinking", that is AWESOME writting and directing. She remains me of the wife of the Eearl in the Vikings, how she was always steering her husband , that just sexy to me. Man....this was suppose to be a review...but instead I just drool over all the female leads in this show. But.. i digress, this show is golden and I can't wait to see how things unfold through the season, heres hopping for season two!!!

Over the last few years it seems that the SyFy Channel has had fewer and fewer actual science fiction series. They seem to be more interested in reality TV, wrestling, and B horror movies. Defiance had an excellent set of characters who manage to draw you in and keep you interested. The individual episodes are more or less self contained, while still running a larger story arc. This means that a new viewer can pretty much pick any episode to watch and be able to figure out what's happening in that episode, while still rewarding loyal weekly viewers with a much larger story. After the cliffhanger ending to season one I'm glad to see that SyFy has already renewed it for another season. Here's to hoping that season two is as good as season one, and that it will be followed by many many more. I'm tired of good series getting killed off without a decent wrap up, and just when they hit their stride (ie Star Trek Enterprise, Sanctuary, The 4400, Alphas, and StarGate Universe).

I watch the show and play the game. It's wonderful I've gotten into other shows before but not like this one. My only complaint would be that there's currently only the two seasons. The anticipation for the next is worth waiting for although I'd rather have it now and many more to come. Most of the bad reviews are people that can never me pleaded due to greed but it's their loss. This is a great show just wish they would get the seasons up faster.
