Ray Turner is building his biggest weir ever, and with the eel migration right around the corner, he rushing to get the rack in the water. In Louisiana, it's opening day of alligator season and hunters David LaGrange, Keith and Seth Major are champin' at the bit to get out on the swamp. 'Shroom hunters Chris Matherly and Levena Holmes have a buyers who are counting on them to bring in a haul of the trendy mushroom Chaga.

Wormers Jim Campbell and Andy Johns are competing for a $3,000 prize. Eel fisherman Ray Turner is rebuilding after Mother Nature ripped his trap out of the Delaware River. Burler Cliff Witt and son Zeb are on the hunt for 1,500 pounds of buckeye, but with gravity working against them, that's easier said than done. In Louisiana, there's a showdown brewing as gator hunters Keith, Seth and David are on the prowl to continue their hot streak.

Cajuns David, Keith and Seth are running out of luck, and if they don't turn it around, they're also gonna be out a big payday. Worm diggers Jim and Andy hope to strike underwater gold with a big sea urchin haul. Ray has discovered something's been stealing eels from his trap, and drastic times call for drastic measures. Chris and Levena are on the hunt for extremely rare and valuable mushrooms, but an injury puts their mission in jeopardy.

With time running out on the season, David's shooting slump has put the entire operation in jeopardy. After discovering that a black bear has been using his eel trap as an all-you-can-eat buffet, Ray scrambles to devise a solution. Cliff Witt gambles thousands on one walnut burl to satisfy his biggest client. Jim and Andy throw caution to the wind as they strike out to dig worms in the midst of a nasty nor'easter.

After suffering a devastating blow at Hermit's Island, Jim and Andy are out for revenge and head back out to dig two consecutive tides. Chris & Levena have a potential $500 order for chanterelles, but when their mission becomes derailed in the middle of the wilderness, their gamble to head into the mountains alone is placed in peril. When Ray Turner's smoker goes berzerk, he has to pull out the stops to avoid losing a grand.

When the stove that powers his smoker breaks down, Ray's entire operation comes to a crashing halt. The boys of the bayou are hot on the trail of a monster gator that's been stealing their bait and costing them thousands of dollars. Despite heavy winds and a small craft advisory, Jim and Andy are splashing in for their last urchin dive of the season.

Tired of waiting for the gators to show up for the fight, the gator hunters are taking the fight to the gators. Chris and Levena come face to face with their biggest fear. Jim and Andy's favorite flats have been dug out so they're digging at the notoriously dangerous marauder's cove. Ray Turner's been smoked out of his shop, and unless he comes up with a fix, and fast, he can kiss the eel season goodbye.

With winter nipping at the boy’s heels, Jim and Andy feel the wrath of Mother Nature’s plunging temperatures. Weather nearly shuts down Ray’s eel weir. Cliff tries to beat the autumn rains and tackle his biggest job of the season - delivering sixty top quality burls. The gator hunters get some bonus tags but they come with a catch: they've gotta bring along a desk jockey determined to bag a monster.
