9/20/02
Two young women push their sisterly relationship to the limits by becoming roommates when their single father takes a job in Japan. Fun-loving 16-year-old Holly Tyler (series star AMANDA BYNES) moves in with her straitlaced 28-year-old sister, Valerie Tyler (series star JENNIE GARTH), in New York City. Just when Val thinks she's got the perfect life--a promising career in public relations, a handsome and free-spirited boyfriend, Jeff (series star SIMON REX), and her own Upper West Side apartment--everything in her neatly regimented life starts to unravel as soon as Holly stumbles through the door. Holly's pal Gary (series star WESLEY JONATHAN) loves the new arrangement, since he is enamored with Val, who can barely remember his name. Meanwhile, Holly wreaks havoc at Val's big event featuring skateboarder TONY HAWK (himself).
2 Spa Day
9/27/02
Holly and Val plan a day of pampering, but Holly finds herself in a "sticky" situation when she sneaks out of a spa without Val's knowledge in order to meet J.C. CHASEZ (himself) from the pop group *NSYNC. Holly must somehow get back inside after being denied re-entry by a security guard. Meanwhile, Jeff and Gary have an afternoon of male competition after Gary calls Jeff old.
3 Roommates
10/4/02
When Holly's unintentionally disruptive antics finally become unbearable, Val creates a G.R.C.--a Good Roommate Chart--for Holly to follow. Afraid of being sent to live with her father in Japan, Holly strictly adheres to the obsessive regulations, but a mishap involving Gary and dozens of Val's stuffed animals might just mean the end of this living arrangement. Meanwhile, Val and Jeff think they've found the perfect opportunity for some much-needed romance--but Holly's violation of the G.R.C. ruins that plan.
4 The Teddy Bear
10/11/02
Holly and Val battle for possession of a teddy bear they both cherished when they were younger. When the struggle becomes too divisive, the sisters agree to give the stuffed animal to a little girl in their building. However, upon discovering that the child is abusing and destroying their childhood treasure, Holly and Val join forces to regain the beloved bear.
5 Cool Older Sister
10/18/02
Val tries to be less of an authority figure to Holly, but Val's patience is tested when Holly and Gary secretly leave for a wild party on Long Island. Worried, Val and Jeff snoop in Holly's e-mail and go after her.
6 The Parrot Trap
11/1/02
Holly becomes smitten with a young man, Kyle (J. MACK SLAUGHTER), who is leading a protest movement to retire a zoo's performing parrot. But the situation gets out of control when Kyle is so inspired by Holly's passion for the cause that he kidnaps the parrot. Meanwhile, Val plays matchmaker for a customer, Sheila (STACY GALINA - "Knots Landing"), unaware that Sheila is enamored with Jeff.
7 Tankini
11/8/02
Holly is excited to form a trio with her longtime pal, Samantha (CHELSEA BRUMMET), and current best friend, Gary. When Gary feels neglected because of all the girls' shared memories, Holly advises him to give Samantha a chance. But she never expects that the two of them will become so deeply involved! Meanwhile, after Val mocks Jeff's jealousy, he finds a unique way to convince her of how he feels.
8 Copy That
11/15/02
Holly takes a job at a copy shop and thinks that her new co-worker, Jake (PENN BADGLEY - "Do Over"), is interested in her. But when she follows Jeff's advice on how to deal with the situation, she becomes the laughingstock of the store. Meanwhile, Val is nervous about acquiring a new account and impressing her prospective new client, Paul Cody (IAN ZIERING - series star Jennie Garth's former cast mate on "Beverly Hills, 90210").
9 Thanksgiving
11/22/02
Determined to start their own Thanksgiving tradition, Val and Holly cancel plans with their relatives, claiming that Holly is sick. However, the girls' happy day goes awry when the family arrives at their apartment to surprise them. Meanwhile, Jeff and Gary go on a mission to find the perfect turkey for Val.
10 The Party
1/10/03
Holly is enamored with a college student, Evan (KYLE HOWARD), who frequents Copy That, the photocopy shop where she works. After Evan accidentally takes Holly's cellular telephone instead of his, she calls him and accepts his invitation to a party at his apartment. Concerned about Holly attending a college gathering, Gary insists on accompanying her. While Holly dances with Evan, Gary finds out from a group of girls that Evan is a notorious womanizer and tries to warn Holly before it's too late. Meanwhile, Val and Jeff learn a lesson about their relationship during a board game.
11 The Other Woman
1/17/03
Since Val's busy work schedule prevents her from being with Holly and Jeff, Val suggests that the two of them attend a concert, along with Jeff's gorgeous ex-girlfriend Dana (REBECCA GAYHEART - "Beverly Hills 90210"). But when Holly and Dana become friends, Jeff warns Holly that Val feels threatened by Dana.
12 Girl's Night Out
1/24/03
While Jeff is out of town, Holly takes Val on a night out. However, the female bonding stops when Hunter (REID SCOTT), a guy Holly wants to date, makes a romantic advance on Val. The situation gets worse when Hunter's jealous girlfriend, Sasha (SAMANTHA ESTEBAN), arrives, looking for Val.
13 The Cheerleading Incident
1/31/03
Jeff asks neurotic Val to be more spontaneous. But he regrets making the request when she sneaks into his apartment wearing a sexy cheerleader outfit--and Jeff's visiting mother, Linda (NANCY LENEHAN), arrives unexpectedly, having fought with her husband. Fortunately, Linda is not outraged by Val's behavior; she is envious. In order to impress Linda, Val pretends to be wild and impulsive, but after a fun-filled night out with Val, Holly and Jeff, Linda makes a shocking decision. Meanwhile, when Holly wins a prize that rightfully should have gone to Gary, she can't bear to part with it.
14 The Game
2/7/03
Holly volunteers to work in Val's office during spring break from school. The girls clash over the tactics Val should use to get a promotion over a competitive colleague, Lauren (LESLIE GROSSMAN - "Popular"). 2/28/03
When Val returns from a romantic skiing trip, she astounds Holly by announcing that she has ended her relationship with Jeff. I absolutely adore this show. It is hilarious! There aren't a lot of female based leads on TV but I'd put this show on top along with 2 Broke Girls
