After a hurricane tears through the bayou on opening day of Alligator Season, delaying hunting for five critical days, the swampers turn to family to help make up for lost time. Complicating matters is the arrival of two new hunters who invade the Louisiana swamp from their native Texas and challenge King of the Swamp Troy Landry to a high stakes bet. The shortened season forces everyone to take bigger risks including one hunter who jumps into the water to wrestle a huge live gator that tries to get away.

About this show

Deep in the heart of Louisiana lies America's largest swamp a million miles of inhospitable bayous, marshes and wetlands where nature rules and humans struggle to tame it. Many of its inhabitants are the hardened descendants of French refugees who were forced out of Canada in the 18th century and settled in this harsh yet majestic environment. Today, these people are known as the Cajuns, a group renowned throughout the world for their flavorful cuisine, distinctive music and vibrant culture. Resilient, self-reliant and fiercely independent, the Cajuns of the Atchafalaya Swamp still carry on many of their ancestors' trades and traditions.

I like watching this show especially Troy Landry his brother and his boys. I do miss seeing Liz I haven't seen her all season I hope she'll be back next year

I am so amazed by how many people have 5 star reviews I too love to watch this show I feel like I'm part of all of them that's on in the show I love them all I can't wait till Mondays that's when I watch it all day long I'm infatuated with Chase Landry I wish to meet him one day hehehe

Don't even think about taking it off please. Very entertaining and enjoyable. Good characters and informative, teaches about safety and danger in the swamp. Love all people on the show and the stories they tell, personal stories of past adventures, family and other tales. A fascinating look into an extraordinary way of making a living for self and family. Thank you.
