About this show

Alphas is an action-packed thriller from writers Zak Penn (The Avengers, X-Men: The Last Stand) and Michael Karnow. In the series, five ordinary people are brought together to form one extraordinary team of Alphas -- people with the unique power to stretch the capabilities of the human mind giving them superhuman physical and mental abilities. Operating within the Defense Criminal Investigation Service of the U.S. Department of Defense and led by preeminent neurologist and psychiatrist Dr. Lee Rosen (Emmy Award-winner and Academy Award-nominee David Strathairn), an expert in Alpha phenomena, the team investigates cases that point to others with Alpha abilities. As they work against the clock to solve this new brand of crime, they must prevent their own personality differences and disparate backgrounds from interfering with their ultimate mission to catch the enemy. The ensemble cast also stars Malik Yoba (New York Undercover, Why Did I Get Married?), Warren Christie (October Road), Laura Mennell (Watchmen), Ryan Cartwright (Mad Men, Bones) and Azita Ghanizada (Castle).

If you like X-Men than you'll love Alphas. Every character is flawed and by extension "believeable". Gary is funny, keeps the show from getting too serious for the subject matter. The "Government" doing what it does best is a dark subject, Alex Jones is a perfect example of that. Although this show does a superficial homage to that type of oppression.

I will be honest I did not watch this show when it came out because I was mad they Canceled Stargate Universe. I Got it on Google play and it was totally rad. Super powers political machination interesting characters. Also so far Episode 4 I have seen nothing scientifically inaccurate enough to make me mad even though of course it is science fiction so all and all a good Scifi show.

If you want action, romance, and humans with extreme DNA sequencing. This show is for you. I've been a fan since the pilot, and record on my DVR, to watch within 3 days, so it gets counted, in the rating system networks use to determine who's watching what. I really think this show has the potential to go for 200(episodes) Here's to that "clink of my Irish Stout mugs" gotta have it
