1 Manhunt - Boston Bombers
9/16/13
Season-only
From PBS - At 2:50pm on April 15, 2013, two bomb blasts turned the Boston Marathon finish line from a scene of triumph into a scene of tragedy, and a city gripped by heartbreak and terror. Less than five days later, the key suspects were identified and apprehended; one dead, the other in custody. How did investigators transform the chaos of the bombing into a coherent trail of clues, pointing to the accused killers?
2 Oklahoma's Deadliest Tornadoes
9/16/13
Season-only
From PBS - On May 20th 2013, a ferocious F5 tornado over a mile wide tore through Moore, Oklahoma, inflicting 24 deaths and obliterating entire neighborhoods. It was the third time an exceptionally violent tornado had struck the city in 14 years. Yet predicting when and where these killer storms will hit still poses a huge challenge. Why was 2011--the worst ever recorded tornado season that left 158 dead in Joplin, Missouri--followed by the quietest ever year of activity prior to the Moore disaster? Can improved radar and warning technology explain why so many fewer died in Moore than in Joplin? And will tornadoes get worse as Earth's climate heats up? In this NOVA special, we meet scientists in the front ranks of the battle to understand these extreme weather events. We also meet storm survivors whose lives have been upended, and learn how we can protect ourselves and our communities for the uncertain future.
3 Ground Zero Supertower
9/16/13
Season-only
From PBS - NOVA returns to Ground Zero to witness the completion of One World Trade Center. As the superstorm Sandy bore down on New York, many feared that the still-incomplete structures would be especially vulnerable to the storm's wrath. NOVA reveals the engineering story behind their remarkable resilience to nature's worst blows. The greatest test is still to come, though: will the final product be a fitting site for national remembrance?
4 Megastorm Aftermath
11/5/13
Season-only
From PBS: In October 2012, Superstorm Sandy cut a path of devastation across the Caribbean and the East Coast of the United States, killing hundreds and causing tens of billions of dollars in damage. One year after Sandy's deadly strike, NOVA investigates the critical question raised by this historic storm: What can we do to prepare ourselves for the next Sandy?
5 Cold Case JFK
11/14/13
Season-only
From PBS - For decades, the assassination of John F. Kennedy has fueled dark rumors of conspiracies and mishandled evidence. Now, fifty years later, NOVA asks: Could modern investigators do better? We'll see how state-of-the art forensic tools would be applied to the investigation were it to happen today.
6 At the Edge of Space
11/20/13
Season-only
From PBS - Between the blue sky above us and the infinite blackness of space lies a frontier that scientists have only just begun to investigate. In At the Edge of Space, NOVA takes viewers on a spectacular exploration of the earth-space boundary zone that's home to some of nature's most puzzling and alluring phenomena: the shimmering aurora, streaking meteors, and fleeting flashes that shoot upwards from thunderclouds, known as sprites.
7 Asteroid: Doomsday or Payday?
11/20/13
Season-only
From PBS -From the width of a football field to the size of a small city, the space rocks called asteroids have the potential to be killers. But some asteroids may be loaded with billions of dollars'

This show is amazing! :-D I learn many new things that I bet not even many adults know. Sometimes I want to watch many episodes that I have already seen.

Nova is science yet entertaining to the mind. People who say Nova is nonsense or crud are speaking loads of BS. Don't bother reading the 1 star antivacc reviews unless you want to laugh. 😂

NOVA is awesome. There is much stuff to learn, even for a student like me who everyone says knows everything. Yet it is presented in a way that means people, even with no scientific background knowledge, can learn in a fun, enjoyable way. It also has several fun hosts, including Neil DeGrass Tyson! YAY!!!
