Season 2 episodes (8)

1 The Auditions
1/2/14
Cooks compete in the first round of blind taste tests.
2 My Life on a Plate
1/9/14
It's the first round of competitions for the 16 culinary hopefuls who have secured a spot in "The Taste" kitchen. The teams will face both group and individual cooking challenges as they gear up for battle.
3 Guilty Pleasures
1/16/14
Caviar, foie gras, "elevated" take out, and sweet and salty decadent indulgences are taking center stage this week as the 14 remaining hopefuls face off in "The Taste" kitchen to put their personal spin on the mentors' favorite guilty pleasures. In the end, two more competitors will be eliminated. Chef Aaron Sanchez guest judges.
4 Street Food
1/23/14
The mentors are challenging their teams with creating delicious dishes inspired by classic "street food." Sandwiches, seafood--and, of course, the classic English delicacy of fish and chips--are on the menu this week as 12 remaining competitors battle it out for the chance to stay in "The Taste" kitchen another week. Chef Roy Choi is guest judge this week where Anthony Bourdain shares a secret weapon with his kitchen.
5 Go Green
1/30/14
The heat in the kitchen is definitely on as the remaining nine competitors continue to fight to stay in "The Taste" kitchen one more week. But in a shocking and unexpected turn of events, one cook decides to mysteriously leave the competition, leaving everyone wondering what happened. With this week's challenge centered on vegetarian cooking, some mentors are taken out of their comfort zone as the teams create dishes inspired by things like curry and pasta when Chef Yotam Ottolenghi guest judges.
6 The Sweetest Thing
2/6/14
Who doesn't love dessert? Bring your sweet tooth this week as the eight remaining competitors are given the challenge to create mouthwatering desserts highlighting ingredients like fruit and sweet and savory combinations. Chef Christina Tosi guest judges a delicious battle in which two competitors will be sent home, and the remaining six will head to the semi-finals.
7 Good with Beer
2/13/14
Beer is the featured ingredient of this week's challenge. With six remaining cooks in the kitchen, the mentors and their teams get out of the studio and into some of their favorite Los Angeles-area restaurants for beer and food pairings. From salty animal flesh and shellfish to spicy and exotic foods, the competitors are feeling the pressure knowing that this week's challenge will determine who will be sent home and who will move on to the finale. Chef Jonathan Waxman is the guest judge for this challenge and serves the remaining cooks a curve ball they never saw coming as time ticks down during the group challenge. Who will hit a homerun and who will strike out?
8 The Finale
2/20/14
It's all come down to this. With only four cooks remaining in "The Taste" kitchen, the mentors give their teams their final group challenge; creating Rich and Poor dishes inspired by various ingredients including tripe, liver, wagyu beef, scallops and foie gras. This week the finalists have the added pressure of cooking for a culinary legend, the one and only, Chef Jacques Pepin.

About this show

One blind spoonful could change everything on ABC's "The Taste." This new cooking competition show is literally all about taste.

Sixteen competitors, from pro chefs to home cooks, whip up dishes attempting to impress four of the world's most notable chefs. The catch is all the dishes will be judged in a blind taste test. In this pressure-packed contest, the taste of a single spoonful can catapult a contender to the top or send him packing.

"The Taste" features no-holds barred chef Anthony Bourdain, British food star Nigella Lawson, expert chef and author Ludo Lefebvre and restaurateur Brian Malarkey. Each of the four culinary superstars and "Taste" mentors -- Bourdain, Lawson, Lefebvre and Malarkey -- will coach a team of four competing pro and amateur cooks chosen from a nationwide casting call as they vie to create the best tasting dish.

In each episode, the groups will face team and individual challenges with a variety of culinary themes through several elimination rounds. At the end of each episode, the mentors will have to judge the competitors' dishes blind, with no knowledge of whose creation they're sampling, what they're eating, how it was prepared or whom they could be eliminating.

I love cooking shows and this one falls short. Every episode feels the same and please do something with the design of the set is horrible.
