A year later and The Paradise is struggling without its charismatic owner, Moray. Now he is back and reunited with Denise, but their joy is fleeting, as the arrival of Katherine and her new husband shocks everybody. Moray controversially closes the shop for a day, hoping to create a fever to boost business but when the grand opening is threatened by sabotage, uncomfortable discoveries are made.

Moray welcomes his friend from Paris, Clémence Romanis, and their intimacy instantly sparks jealousy in Denise. Clémence has come to sell her fireworks - however, the deal is overshadowed when a cart carrying the half-dead Jonas Franks arrives in the street. As Clémence challenges the limitations of the female sex, Denise's jealousy turns to respect, but for others she becomes a threat.

Spirits are high in anticipation for the annual staff outing but Tom must deliver unhappy news. Applications for a sought-after job flood in and Denise's excitement is punctured when Moray asks her not to apply. Katherine gives Flora a beautiful doll, but her naïve enjoyment of it irritates Tom and he begins to question whether her indulgent, unstructured days are rendering her ignorant, so he takes action.

Denise is met with tough decisions, and finding Moray more and more distant she realises it can be lonely at the top. A shock arrival forces Susy to tackle demons from her past and she struggles to keep a lid on things. In an effort to exert his ownership, Tom Weston begins plans to expand The Paradise, while Moray is on a path of deception which could endanger everything he holds dear.

Tom Weston is furious to see that Moray has set up a display of pocket watches which might steal attention away from his new Food Hall department and asks Denise to spend time in other departments to make improvements. Moray is riled to learn Tom has been favouring Denise, fearing she is being used as a pawn. Jonas begins to reel Tom in even closer and Tom, oblivious to Jonas' duplicity, orders him to report on Moray's movements.

Lucille confesses to Clara she doubts her feelings for Ballentine, but soon regrets her comments and attempts to buy Clara's silence. Tom's behaviour is disturbingly spiteful and a frightened Katherine confides in Moray. Unbeknownst to them Tom has been watching their intimacy grow. Tom and Katherine attempt a truce but the good intention unravels leaving devastation in its wake.

12/1/13

A serialised ghost story is taking the city by storm and when Susy's staff photograph reveals more than she is expecting she's certain The Paradise is haunted. Moray finds he is unable to tell Denise the truth about him and Katherine but Denise's suspicions are confirmed in a more heart breaking way. Dudley plans to bring Denise and Moray back together and forces them to work alongside each other, which is torment for the pair.

8 Episode 8

12/7/13

Clémence arrives back in town bringing her problems to an already troubled Paradise. Tom flaunts his reconciliation with Clémence in front of a desolate Katherine. Distressed, she is rescued by Jonas at her darkest hour. As Katherine confides in Jonas, her words confirm his suspicions of Tom's dark past. Katherine learns some unexpected news that reignites her fight and purpose.

The Paradise is an awesome show enjoy watching it, I can watch it over an over again Denise is a clever girl who knows her business, John Moray is a good person he made mistakes an learned from them, Katherine is smart, rich an will stop at nothing to get the man she lives, I hope they come out with a part 3 to the show.

Season two brings a maid/ kitchen worker who shows way too much boob! Very tasteless. Also S2 seems in need of a story or plot actors seem floundering under the weight of no real story line!

Love this series! A period piece that rivals Upstairs Downstairs and Downton Abbey. I got caught up in the characters and found myself watching episode after episode and hoping there is a third season.
