Rooth Dragon (Dave Michaels)

Just watched all 4 seasons again, and I'm reminded of why I loved it so. If you're watching it and struggling, be aware that it gets particularly engaging toward the end of Season 1 and into Season 2. Get that far and it'll likely keep you hooked all the way through. The character dynamics and growth are really well done, and even the 'fluff' episodes give the actors a chance to show their range playing out-of-band characters. Wayne Pygram is especially entertaining in his alternate roles.

Amazing Shows, Spoiler Free review of why you should watch it. First off let me say Season One is not the best, its not terrible but it takes a while to get good, It gets good around Episode 18. That's a long way to go I know but it is worth it for the pay off. The spoiler free pay off is that you get to see an unconventional look at insanity caused by mental trauma. Its not preachy, its at times funny, at times scary and sad. But you get to see it occur in real time in a believable sense. That is the core of what takes this show so good, the setting is science fiction done very well and the characters feel truly complex without slowing down the pace at all. This is one of the greatest works of its genre once it gets up an going, which unfortunately takes some time and if you skip it you won't get as much as you could out the later parts of the show.

One of the most underrated sci fi shows, and I'm bummed I only 'discovered it' recently. Great writing, great production, great cast and most of all great storytelling. There's the movie that nicely wrapped things up not to mention subsequent comic book storylines, but wish they had many more seasons.
