MICHAEL MENDHEIM INTERVIEW - MUTANT FOOTBALL LEAGUE - GaMP | MGC 2018 EP #5 - GAME AND MOVIE PODCAST
By some sort of dumb luck, the Game and Movie Podcast booth at the Midwest Gaming Classic this year was right next to Michael Mendheim and the spiritual successor to Mutant League Football, Mutant Football League! That's right, all it took was switching two words together...and almost 25 years, but the creator of the original is back with a brand new football game that's crass, violent, rude, vulgar, but most of all, a hell of a lot of fun! Tony talks to the industry veteran about his company, Digital Dreams Entertainment and the steady climb its been to make this game a reality. He's surrounded by very talented people who share the same passion, including the other branch of Digital Dreams that's located clear across the earth in the Ukraine! He breaks down game play, discusses features and mechanics, and even tells us about the much awaited "Dynasty" expansion that will bring a franchise mode to the madness.
It's very clear that he believes in this project and he is incredibly thankful for the talent and hard work of everyone involved, and everyone who has supported and funded the game through Kickstarter. He also talks about how the Mutant Football League community is the real MVP, listening to the fans, hosting tournaments, and creating new features and teams based upon what they vote on. Michael is very rooted and grateful, and certainly hasn't forgotten where he's come from. He's hard working, passionate, and has a vision that includes mutated beings killing each other for sport. Nothing wrong with that! Thanks for talking to us Michael, and good luck this year with the expansion! We hope you enjoy the interview!
