Queens can be classified as an object placement puzzle, like Battleship or Trees and Tents, and as binary determination puzzle, like Hitori or Nurikabe. The puzzle is very similar Star Battle (also known as "Two Not Touch"), where you need to place 2 stars instead of 1 crown per region.
