EDIT: I called cutomer support. it turns out they didn't put my credentials in the system when I got the modem. they added me quickly, then all the issues got resolved. wifi is working well, but I'm still figuring what I can and can't do in the app. it's limited --------- OLD: the app won't let me log in, even after double checking my log in credentials, and resetting the password just in case I was remembering wrong. nope, it just send me to an error page every time I type the correct log in.

Terrible experience. GCI decided to force this new "AK-Fi" system on us without telling us, and in doing so removed the ability to manually select between the 2.4 and 5 GHz connection. Customer support INSISTS that everything is working perfectly when clearly, it isn't. After whatever they did I have constant buffering, a 4 GB download went from 5 minutes up to an hour, and everything has just been much worse. They finally told me I could get my own router to get back the missing functionality.

This app is absolutely terrible and completely unnecessary. It's absolutely despicable that GCI is forcing their customers to use it, it should definitely be opt-in. No longer able to update our routers firmware the traditional way and we're losing access to too many features to even list here. I'm extremely ticked off and will readily be searching for a new Internet provider. Honestly I can't wait to switch, this is the final straw!
