About this app

Identity Automation makes it easier than ever to provide an additional layer of security when signing into work and personal apps with the RapidIdentity Mobile Application.

The RapidIdentity Mobile Client enables organizations to use Push and Time-based One-Time Passcode (TOTP) authentication methods in place of passwords or as a second verification step during the login process to RapidIdentity and RapidIdentity SSO enabled applications. RapidIdentity TOTP works offline and does not require any cellular or wifi connection.

The RapidIdentity Mobile Client can also generate TOTP passcodes for RapidIdentity and other personal SaaS services and web applications that support mobile-generated passcodes, enabling users to consolidate other authentication tools into a single app. It supports all the same apps supported by Google Authenticator, including Gmail, LastPass, Evernote, Dropbox, Facebook, and much more.

With the RapidIdentity Mobile App, you can also lock specific passcodes behind a PIN or your phone Touch ID, so even if your phone is taken, your codes are not left exposed.

When an organization employs RapidIdentity Mobile Client to facilitate authentication to their environment, it is necessary to have RapidIdentity Server version 4.8.2 or later to ensure the mobile device can receive notifications from RapidIdentity Server.

Compared to MS authenticator or Google Authenticator, it's terrible. Doesn't tell you what device is attempting to log in (the most you'll get is raw IP, so good luck if anyone else is actually trying to access your account when you are), doesn't accept fingerprinting / biometrics, needs a password every time. Ineffective session management (did I close the tab 5 seconds ago? Time for a reauth). Setup is tedious and manual. Must be bottom dollar pricing, or good marketing to universities.

This app is literally useless, and I wouldn't be using it if my university didn't require it. Sometimes the MFA doesn't work even if I put in the password, and other times I can hit "approve" when the notification pops up and it will go through. Not to mention, people without phones are SOL when it comes to this app and keeping access to their email and Canvas. So many people were against this, my university had to give incentives (food, a raffle, etc) to get people to actually download this app

Should be zero. Somedays it works, somedays it doesnt. Somedays it never pushes the notification thru till after 30 sec or not at all. If you dont very carefully hit approve it opens the app instead where you have to type yet another password to press approve and by that time its timed out.... absolute junk. Or once you login thru the app and get a one time code you can login on the desktop THEN you recieve the ping notifications. Junk.
