About this app

Square Team app is the one place for your team to communicate, manage schedules, access timecards, and stay in sync — all on the go. It also allows them to see their hours worked, breaks, overtime, and estimated pay.

Built for businesses using Square, the app enables employees to clock in and out on their phones instead of at the POS, which saves time and eliminates the need for team members to crowd around the POS to clock in. Employers can manage teams more easily, adjust schedules, and empower their employees by putting critical shift information at their fingertips. Employers using Square Payroll can easily pay their team, automatically importing timecards, tips, and commissions.

Your whole team can chat using real-time messaging and employers can send out important updates and announcements so the whole team stays in the know.

Team members can see when and where they’re scheduled to work, pick up open hours, and make sure their work schedule fits with their personal one. It also allows them to see their hours worked, breaks, overtime, and estimated pay. And if team members are paid through Square Payroll, they have access to their pay stubs and tax forms right on their mobile phones.

• If team members get paid through Square Payroll, they can:

Ratings and reviews

This has been a downgrade from Crew in every possible way. If they had just kept Crew more or less intact and slapped the Square branding on it, I'd be happy, but as is, even the most basic functionality of sending a message to my team only works maybe 20% of the time. Messages fail to send, send in the wrong order, or occasionally just disappear after sending. Going to give them a little more time to try to fix things, but I'm actively shopping around for alternatives.

App has routine updates that, more often than not, make things less intuitive than before. Opened it up today to discover I can't make schedule changes anymore - instead, it takes me through a loading screen and back to the main screen. Extremely annoying app to use on a regular basis.

My store used Crew app, which was taken over by Square. Difficult to navigate through. The team is having a hard time finding their schedules. Seems that there are unnecessary features, while features we enjoyed from Crew are not available. I don't get notifications for time off requests or that there are new messages, and I am an Admin. Hoping it will come to us w use as this was a great way to interact w staff.
