Version 1 features:
- Explore 3000+ mammal images with taxonimic classification. This version excludes most common pets such as dogs and cats.
- Select a subset by major groupiing (the "order") or by partial spelling.
- Save your favorite cute, ugly, tiny, gigantic, or scary-looking mammals in "My Zoo" so they're easy to show to everyone later.
- Keep preschoolers occupied for hopefully at least five minutes. Listen to the animal names with the "Say" feature, and then practice English pronunciation. (There is some Latin and Greek in there--not useful for a preschooler to learn--but good for some tongue-twister challenges.)
- Older kids can find interesting animals that might inspire a future school project in zoology, the environment, animal habitats, or geography.
- Adults, you can learn something too! Did you know there are more than 1,200 species of bats? That rabbits are related to mice? That hippopotamuses are related to pigs? Amaze your friends! Amaze your kids!
