We first got this system a year ago. I finally installed it a week ago(house renos now finished) setting up cameras was easy except one cable had an internal break from in box. Had issues finding the right app for system, we got this system because we were able to add an external hard drive, but the system won't read a new hard drive even after changing everything to ntsc. Then after a week the internal storage has stopped working...issues with connectivity(had to get wifi booster)

When the app works it streams the camera fine. Sadly it doesn't always work well, so so often you want to connect to the camera to view live and it will fail to connect, a few tries later and it connects as if there was no issue. My theory is like most cheap hardware they contain a very slow/low spec'd webserver (to enable connection), this is why it fails so often. I record to an FTP server mainly because I need constant recording and not the halve arsed implementation motion detection swann use. The software is basic, when it works its adequate.

This app was going really well, made me feel safe in my home. We'd even get alerts in the middle of the night as a moth or cat would set it off. However the last few weeks, both mine and my partner aren't receiving notifications and are given an "operation failed" error message when we try to turn them back on. This needs to be fixed quickly!
