Rainspotter is the free rain radar app that gives you very accurate location based rain information up to 5 hours ahead. If you want to know exactly when and how much it’s going to rain? Then always check Rainspotter before you go out.

Rainspotter is the app you need if you bike to work, do outdoor sports, organise events or simply want to know if you need to bring an umbrella or not. It gives you detailed rain information up to 5 hours ahead of time based on your current or pre-defined locations. It’s up to 5 minutes accurate and hyper local. It works in the whole of the United Kingdom, Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and even parts of Germany.

It’s even possible to get a notification to be warned about approaching rain so you can make sure you’re always prepared.

Rainspotter gives you very local and very detailed precipitation information which is always up to date.

Interactive radar map:
Rainspotter has an interactieve radar map which shows exactly where it’s raining and where it’s going to rain for the next 5 hours.

Rain graph:
The very accurate rain radar shows exactly how much rain is expected at what time.

Notifications for upcoming rain:
Based on your location or pre-defined locations Rainspotter will give you a notification if rain is expected. This makes you prepared at any moment for the rain to come.

Needs a pause button to stop the auto scan. Pressing on the screen rarely has any effect at halting the auto scan - it just marches on regardless. Perhaps it's an issue with the app taking up so much CPU time during a scan, that there is little leeway for a screen tap to be detected. Another issue is that the map location pointer is no longer in view when the map is minimised to show more of the radar profile. Please re-centre the map when the map part of the display is minimised or expanded.

Possibly good, but large banner ad covers the whole of the important (to me) predictive section which shows how much rain at what time. This was the only section I was interested in too, as the already good rain alarm I have, shows a much better map. (just no guess at rainfall amount) In theory this might be good, but have to dock stars because I can't be sure how accurate it is. Will probably uninstall as it's pretty useless for me, given I have the map elsewhere already.

Seems like a (too) quick port from iOS - had to manually enable the notification permission as the app only asked for location permission when setting up. However, it's worse in the app, I can't enable notifications or alerts even after granting permission, I can't choose a city for 'my location', the map doesn't show anything, the content on the 'upcoming days' section is completely missing/empty.. I don't know what's going on here. Otherwise this app would be exactly what I'm looking for.
