About this app

This app is no longer maintained and is only intended for use with Wave Gen 1 monitors. If you don’t have a Wave Gen 1 in your setup, please use the Airthings app. To know if you have a Wave Gen 1, look for serial numbers starting with 2900. You can find the serial number on the label at back of your monitor where the batteries are stored.

Given that you must have location enabled, must have Bluetooth enabled, and must connect to an online account, I feel this app does not protect the consumer adequately. In addition, I bought the device so that I could monitor my home levels while traveling--the presumed benefit of an online account, duh! But with its BT, you have to be within 50 ft of the device to get a read. Since you have to be home to use this, I recommend getting a cheaper device with a readout right on it.

Paid a LOT for a potentially useful item - it's just not ready yet. Rarely syncs properly unless I bump the side of the wave plus with my phone. So many gaps in the data I can't trust any of it. And this is for potentially health threatening information. That's why I spent so much on it. Now every time I sync it says there's a firmware update. Did that 4 times. Seriously unhappy about the entire thing so far. If this were a $50 device it wouldn't be that big of a deal but this was over $600!!!

// Update: recent app update seems to have fixed all sync related issues - now it syncs without a hitch. Updating to 5 starts. Original review below. As many people already said, the app *really* struggles to read sensor data from the device. Force restart app, turn off-on the bluetooth, restart the phone - all that. Good news is that the device itself seems solid - python script opensourced by Airthings is very reliable. So there's hope. In particular, for their upcoming Hub device.
