Absolutely perfect. There is a timer option, but also an option for infinite play. You can layer sounds and tweak each sound's volume individually. This app has tons of ambiance options, such as white noise, yes, but also nature sounds, water sounds, rain, the inside of a plane, a car, etc. No loud pop-up ads either, just a genuinely perfect app. Best white noise app I've tried :] (Edit: being able to have the ambiance louder than the music I have playing is fantastic, thank you devs!)

Originally I used this to help my child sleep while traveling. Now I use it for myself every night. I love all the options. I'm able to mix the sounds for what works best for me. It helps mask my tinnitus and also covers wind noises well. I'm honestly annoyed with the app lately. It used to work really well, but it now requires that I turn off Wi-Fi and data otherwise it dies very quickly.

If you are trying to get away from this app for it having ads, don't. The only thing it has is a stationary ad on the panel and if you come out it doesn't pop up just to feed you with an ad, so it really is near free, ethically at least. For the sounds themselves, there are a variety of sounds that you could possibly want, and even taking a step further and letting you mix the sounds you'd like. Overall it's a very solid app with a bunch of quirky options at it, give it a try.
