Take full control of your play, with the app to your interactive toy engine. With the app for your Smart Tech Sound Engine, you can recreate your play world over and over again: Choose your favourite sounds for your Smart Tech Sound toys or even record your own sounds. And of course, you can fully remote control your engine with the app: Let your engine run at different speeds and change the headlights. The app requires permissions for Bluetooth, location (unfortunately mandatory for Bluetooth LE) and microphone. However, the app does not store any data: The location function is not actively used for the app, the microphone option is only used for recording the desired sounds.

Unfortunately, it's nothing but disappointment! The connection doesn't work at all: neither on the tablet nor on the phone (both Android). We’ve replaced the batteries, restarted the devices, and even reinstalled the app... Couldn't you have tested it properly and fixed the bugs?! I don’t even know where to give zero stars here. I'll do it if I could.

Neat app, but seems way harder to use than necessary. Recording button has to be pressed continuously so it's hard to see when recording is started. There doesn't seem to be options for controlling when to play certain sounds. Also you can only store one recording per gate. Why not save more on the phone to transfer when needed? Remote control doesn't have options to "override" some gates like stop and reverse. This app feels like it wasn't designed for kids.

Lots of negative reviews and I'm not sure of this is app error or user error. I've got an android and it worked straight away, zero issues. It needs Bluetooth and location and perhaps permissions are an issue for some people. The app is actually really well designed, fantastic visuals and my son is crazy about it. You can change the sounds, the lights, and you can control the train speed. Really nicely done.
