About this app

Firewall No Root – Security is an Android firewall that gives you control over which apps may go online, without requiring root access. With just a few taps you can block or allow internet access per app, monitor network traffic and reduce unnecessary background connections – ideal for casual users, parents, privacy enthusiasts and power users.

Your Android firewall with no root required

Many apps connect to the internet in the background, sometimes without you noticing. Firewall No Root helps you take back control:

- Allow or block internet access per app

- Reduce unnecessary background traffic to save data on mobile plans

- Help extend battery life by limiting constant connections

- Restrict connections that are often used for tracking or unwanted monitoring

- Keep children’s apps offline when they don’t need internet access

How Firewall No Root works

Firewall No Root uses the official Android VpnService API to filter traffic locally on your device. It does not tunnel your traffic to a remote VPN server – all allow or block decisions are made directly on your phone or tablet.

- No root access required

- No additional account required

- No redirection of your traffic to third-party servers

- One app acts as a device-wide firewall for your Android device

Privacy and data protection

The app is developed in Germany and follows strict privacy principles. In the Google Play data safety section, the developer declares that this app does not collect user data and does not share data with third parties.

- No user data is collected for analytics or advertising purposes

- No personal data is sold or shared with other companies

- Connections to our infrastructure (for example to update filter lists) are protected with encrypted transport

- The app does not create activity logs intended to profile your online behavior

Simple interface – designed for everyone

The minimalist interface focuses on clarity instead of complexity, so you can set up your firewall within seconds:

- Overview of all installed apps and their current internet status

- Few-tap controls to block or allow apps on Wi‑Fi, mobile data or completely

- Clear notifications when an app tries to access the internet

- Intuitive icons so even non‑technical users can understand the rules

Filter lists, custom rules and DNS changer

Firewall No Root combines an app firewall with regularly updated filter lists and an integrated DNS changer:

- Frequent updates to firewall rules and filter lists

- Helps limit known tracking and surveillance domains

- Custom rules based on IP address, host name or domain name

- Built‑in DNS changer for alternative, often more privacy‑friendly DNS providers

- Quick option to switch back to your default DNS whenever you want

For families, privacy fans and power users

Parents can limit which games and apps used by their children may go online. Privacy‑conscious users keep an eye on apps that constantly connect in the background. Advanced users can monitor network activity more closely and block suspicious connections – all without rooting the device or using complex tools.

Premium with no ads

Firewall No Root is completely free of advertising. Core firewall features can be used for free. An optional in‑app purchase unlocks additional convenience features and supports further development of the app, without forcing you into a subscription.

Note about VpnService
This app is a device security tool and uses Android’s VpnService to redirect network traffic to itself so it can filter connections locally on your device. No traffic is sent to a remote VPN server. Only one app can use VpnService at a time, so if another VPN or firewall app is active you will need to choose which one to use.

hello, i have a very difficult time navigating all tech, but have been trying to trace back suspicious traffic like the weather and YouTube and games coming together 30 times today. it's really hard for me and sometimes I find something that connects people I know to keywords and code and problems in my real life, and sometimes I don't. but today I found your app running a black hole service in running apps in developer mode. I don't want to jump to conclusions and I know the subscription was i
