The VSAO Basel

The VSAO Basel is committed to the assistant and senior physicians working in the two half-cantons of Basel. It represents their professional interests and is committed to modern working conditions and high-quality further and advanced training.

As a separate section, the association runs an office with a lawyer who provides free information to members on labor law issues. As of early 2020, the VSAO Basel has over 2,300 members.

Together with other local sections, he forms the VSAO Switzerland, which represents the umbrella organization of the assistant and senior physicians. The VSAO has a seat in important national decision-making bodies, for example it is represented in the Medical Association with 40 seats. He is also networked with the Basel Medical Society and the Baselland Medical Society.
