About this app

Glympse is an app that lets you temporarily share your real-time location with family, friends, co-workers and more. It visually answers the question, “Where are you?” Glympse gives people and businesses power to share real-time locations safely, securely and temporarily, regardless of what type of mobile device they all have.

The app uses the GPS capability in your mobile phone to let you share your location in one of two ways:
Via a web-based map for a predetermined period with anyone you choose who does not have the Glympse app
Within the Glympse app for a predetermined period for those who, like you, have the Glympse app downloaded.

Sharing your location with someone is referred to as "sending a Glympse." A Glympse goes out as a link via text message. When recipients click on the Glympse link they can view your location on a map in real-time using any web-enabled device for as long as you choose to share with them.

Send a Glympse to let friends know you are on your way to meet them. Request a Glympse from a colleague who is running late to a meeting. Set up a Glympse Tag with your biking club. Create a Glympse Premium Tag for an upcoming local Santa parade. Those you share with can view your Glympse from any web-enabled device, no sign-up or app required.

Glympse is the pioneer of location-sharing. Since 2008, we have been providing solutions that offer communication between the right people at the right time when it matters most. Our solutions operate successfully with minimal data retention, and by default, we do not keep data, nor do we harvest or sell it.

Features
Glympse Private Groups
Glympse Private Groups is a feature in Glympse that creates a private, invite-only Group. You give members control over who can be a member. All members of a Group can share their location and request the location of other members – all visible only to those in the Group. Private Groups are ideal for sharing with family, carpools, sporting teams, groups of friends and more.

Glympse Public Tags
Glympse Tags is a feature in Glympse that allows you to quickly view and share location with multiple friends on a single, shared Glympse map. Glympse Tags are public spaces (similar to Twitter/X hash tags) where anyone who knows the Tag name can view the tag map and add themselves to that map. When you view a tag map, what you are seeing is a map of people who have chosen to join the tag map (example: !SmithFamilyReunion or !SeattleCyclingClub).

Glympse Premium Tags
Glympse Premium Tags is our premium offering in Glympse that provides customization options to personalize and brand the Glympse experience. You can create a one-of-a-kind experience by uploading your logo and branding, map out certain routes you plan to make stops at, as well as other branding elements. Glympse Premium Tags is ideal for events such as community parades, Santa parades, food trucks, marathons, and so much more.

Premium Shares
Glympse Premium Shares is a premium feature in Glympse that allows businesses to create a branded, professional experience for sharing and requesting locations. With Premium Shares, you can customize the app with your logo, colors, and other branding elements, making it a seamless extension of your business. It's perfect for industries like home services, HVAC, limo services, and more, enabling clear and efficient communication with clients. Whether you're coordinating appointments, deliveries, or service visits, Premium Shares ensure your business stays connected and informed, reducing the need for phone calls and texts.

I used to use this with my verizon and it was a great ,useful and easy to use feature. I recieve a link to a glympse and when i click it shows not sharing. Does not show the progress on the map. Im definitely not happy with this change and im considering using whats app live location when i need it. Sorry but this change has been very disappointing. It was going great from within verizon and now its horrible. Why mess with a good thing & why chase away customers that have been loyal for years.

Seriously, guys? "Modern UI" would mean it uses a modern UI, like the native Material look, not a modern custom UI or skin that looks like my cat's hairball puke or like Android 2.0 with colors. Gut the UI front-end and start from scratch with native Jetpack Compose UI before you get pushed out of the industry: evolve or die. And you have a front-end for watches, but not one for Android Auto? You do realize most of your users drive, right? 😆🤣 This is amateur hour over here... 🙄

Get a 🔴 unsuccessful after the Android March 2024 security update. Update 8/22/24: Don't know what I did but the app started working again. I reinstalled glympse, cleared the messages and glympse cache and storage. I restarted the phone and still nothing. I changed the background to dark mode like I like it. I took off G selector. Started a glympse and noticed the car, bike, walk icon was not highlight and highlighted the car and was successful. Was that it that fixed the issue? I don't know?
