Ratings and reviews

The functionality is very buggy, particularly when controlling devices. If the app was left open in the background, it will not connect to a device until it is closed completely and reopened. The store front also often doesn't load, making that pay off the app pointless. The biggest issue is the requirement that I share my location if I want to connect to a device - why do you need my location for a Bluetooth connection to change the color of a sphere? That requirement was changed in android 12.

Completely Unreliable I have 3 o spheres. 1 is the usb c version. none will connect reliably. I am not sure how they managed to fool me into buying these lights again, the kids love them, but really turns me off olight in general. I have easily spent at least $500 in different lights. Is a functional app too much to expect? Especially when light functionality is walled into the app. 1 star and no more purchases until app is fixed.

Ad infested spammy experience. There are a ridiculous number of ads in the app. Move to a tab and an ad pops up. Ads, ads, ads. I just want to control the devices I bought. When signing up for an account, you MUST consent to receive spam from Olight. There's a place to opt out after the fact in the app, but it requires a captcha. The captcha is expired every single time, so you can't unsubscribe. This is the first and last Olight product I'm buying. Absolute garbage app experience.
