The application provides information on proper use of filtering respiratory protective devices, including selection, fit testing, disinfection, and determination of safe usage time.
The application assists in matching filtering half masks to the user’s facial dimensions. Based on a photograph, it assigns the user’s face size to one of five standardized head models (according to ISO 16976-2:2022). The application operates offline. Photographs and measurement data are neither stored nor recorded in any way. The assignment to a facial size category does not replace individual fit testing of the half mask or anthropometric measurements. It is solely a supporting tool to aid in matching a half mask to the user’s face. Once the measurements are taken and a size is selected, this choice must always be verified using one of the widely recognized fit testing methods for RPD facepieces.
The Safe Use Time Calculator estimates how long a person can safely remain in an environment with an elevated level of carbon dioxide (CO₂) before symptoms such as fatigue or shortness of breath appear. Simply enter the CO₂ concentration and the intensity of your activity — and the calculator will do the rest. This calculator does not replace direct workplace CO₂ measurements, which must constitute the basis for occupational risk assessment and determination of the safe duration of RPD use. The calculator is only a supportive tool that may indicate the need for measurements and their evaluation; it must not be relied upon as the sole source of data.
The Disinfection Log and the disinfection procedures presented serve as guidance for planning and monitoring the use of filtering RPD. Information obtained through the application cannot serve as the basis for selecting the type of disinfection or the method of its application. The user must always follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer of the half masks.
The database provides a compilation of filtering half masks in classes FFP1, FFP2, FFP3, and elastomeric half masks intended for use with filtering elements. It contains protective equipment submitted individually by manufacturers and distributors. The database contains the following information:
Name of the half mask,
Size of the half mask according to ISO/TS 16976-2:2022,
Manufacturer’s name,
Website address,
Photo of the half mask.
Note: The half mask size has been assigned to one of the five standardized head models sizes in accordance with ISO/TS 16976-2:2022 and ISO 16900-5:2016, based on breathing work studies conducted according to ISO 16900-12:2016. This is not the size declared by the manufacturer.
All information included in the application has been developed based on the most relevant research results and recommendations regarding the use of filtering respiratory protective devices.
The information provided by the application cannot serve as the only basis for RPD selection suitable for working or environmental conditions or for ensuring proper user fit. The application is available in two languages: Polish and English.
The application is only a supporting tool, therefore the authors and publisher of this application disclaim any liability for decisions made based on the information obtained from it.
