Nice but the app won't save downloads to SD card, in spite of the option being present in settings

The new app for android TV seems to have addressed all the previous issues: no more freezing and cache problems and a much nicer and intuitive navigation; well done! Previous review April 2018 - Since the recent upgrade of their interface, Arte g.e.i.e has become very unstable and user unfriendly; no information about why some videos would not load (country rights? ) lengthy drill downs to reach what you want and definitely buggy at the extreme. A very frustrating experience, unworthy of the usual Arte quality approach.

It's alright. I wish the front page would use location instead of language settings to determine which videos will be available. As an intermediate French speaker, I'd like to set the user-interface language to French but then it shows me thumbnails of videos that are mostly only available to view in France. If I set the language to English, I see thumbnails of available videos (thank you!) and most of them are French anyway... just with English subtitles. So why not just show me the same list when I set the user interface language to French? Android's location settings are there for a reason.

What's new

This latest version includes:

• You now have more choice over the quality level of the videos you watch.
• You can delete an item from your history with a long press, if so desired.
• Subtitles display has been improved.
• We have optimised for Android 13 and made some general improvements and bug fixes.
