About Durood e Lakhi:
Darood Sharif, also known as Salawat, is a prayer recited to seek blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It is a way of showing love, respect, and gratitude towards the Messenger of Allah. Muslims recite Darood Sharif in various forms, each carrying its own blessings. According to Wikipedia Salawat (Arabic: صَلَوَات, romanized: ṣalawāt; sg. صَلَاة, ṣalāh) or durood (Hindi: دُرُوْد) is an Islamic complimentary Arabic phrase which contains veneration for Muhammad. This phrase is usually expressed by Muslims as part of their five daily prayers (usually during the tashahhud) and also when Muhammad's name is mentioned. Darood Lakhi or Darood-e-Lakhi, known as the Thousand-Fold Salutation is a prayer on the Prophet ﷺ that is ascribed to the ruler, Sultan Mahmood Ghaznavi. Sultan Mahmood would recite a thousand salutations upon the Prophet ﷺ every morning and night with utmost humility and sincerity. As he would spend much of his time in worship, some parts of his sultanate suffered as a result of negligence. One night he went to sleep, and he saw the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in his dream. The Prophet ﷺ taught this prayer to the Sultan and told him to recite it after the Fajr prayer, the reward of which would be equivalent to a thousand salutations.
