While the Romans played Nine Men's Morris, the herd boys of Southern Africa mastered a more complex strategy. Historically played by shepherds grazing their cattle, they carved boards into stone and earth, using pebbles as "cows." 🐄 THE RULES OF THE HERD In this game, your pieces are your "Cows." You must protect them at all costs.

Place: Strategically drop your 12 cows on the board.

Move: Slide along the lines to form a "Mill" (3 in a row).

Capture: Every Mill allows you to "shoot" (remove) an opponent's cow.

The Goal: Reduce your opponent to 2 cows to win.
