If you are more interested in a media player, please see our USB Audio Player PRO app:
eXtream Software Development has written custom USB audio code from scratch because Android does not support USB audio. No rooting is required.
Your USB audio device must be class-compliant in order to work: USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 class-compliant devices are supported with either USB audio spec 1.0 or 2.0. Devices that require you to install specific drivers under Windows or OSX will usually not work.
Make sure to connect your audio device BEFORE starting the app. If you get a message on start-up saying that the device failed to initialize, your device will not work (for now). Reasons can be that your Android device does not meet the requirements, it does not supply enough power (try a powered hub), the USB audio device is not class-compliant or you are not using an OTG cable (if needed).
Please let us know if your Android/audio device combination works.
Note that this app also functions as the license/key to use USB audio in Audio Evolution Mobile.
• USB audio recording
• USB audio playback
• Mono, stereo and multichannel recording
• Stereo playback (on multichannel device, the first two outputs are used)
• 16-, 24- and/or 32-bit depending on your device
• Up to 384 kHz sample rate (depending on your audio device)
• Input/output selection
• Buffer size selection (1024 to 16384 frames)
• Recording format selection: wav/flac/ogg/aiff. (No mp3 since that is patented, use ogg for similar quality and compression)

• Monitor button to set your levels before recording
• Load wav/aiff/flac/ogg files for playback
• Rename or delete recording
• Display of available disk space
• Internal controls like gain, volume and mute are presented on the mixer screen if available
• Set the folder you wish to record to, for example, external sd cards
• Play through your Android device's internal speakers or headset in case you have an input-only device like an USB mic
• Very basic playlist (directory playback) functionality because of many user requests. No mp3 playback or fancy graphics, the app is meant for recording! For a media player, see our USB Audio Player PRO app.
• Share your recordings through GMail, SoundCloud, etc.
• 800x480 screen minimum (in landscape)
• Android 3.1 or higher (no root required!!!)

Cubase is a mastering powerhouse. With its serious suite of dynamics, EQ and metering plugins you’ve got all the tools you need to become a “master” at mastering. But first, you’ve got to know what you’re doing. Who better to explain the mastering process and Cubase than the talented Matt Hepworth?! Matt’s been a Cubase power user since the beginning of Cubase recorded time and now he is focusing his vast teaching abilities on helping you understand the the often confusing and usually misunderstood art of mastering.
He starts off this course with a bit of mastering history. Why? Because it’s important to understand why mastering came about in the first place and how all the classic techniques have been adapted to today’s digitally driven listening experience.
From there he takes you deep into the Cubase’s amazing collection of plugins as he explains why, when and how to use them. This collection of tutorials is divided into 3 distinct sections based upon the result that you’re looking to achieve:
Punchy, Shiny and Loud
He takes these audio descriptors and explains how to create them audio-wise giving you a strong foundation of the underlying audio fundamentals. Then there’s the big picture stuff like dithering, exporting and formats... Matt covers it all!
Simply put: This course rocks! Watch it. Learn form it. Use as your Cubase mastering reference for years to come!

ABX Audio enables double-blind A/B/X testing of audio clips.
You can test any audio clips on your device, in any audio format your device supports. Most versions of Android support WAV, MP3, AAC, FLAC and others.
One common use for this app is to rip a WAV to MP3s at different bit rates and ABX test each MP3 against the original WAV file to determine what is the lowest bit rate you can use that will be free of audible distortion. You can also test different encoders and results of filters at different frequencies.
You provide your own audio clips, though ABX Audio's web site has a few sample audio files to help you get started.
This app should run on any Android device (phone or tablet of any size), on any version of Android from 2.3.3 forward. It has no ads, no telemetry, doesn't use network, and needs storage permission only to save its config settings.
For silent, however, doesn't mean just the profile: This widget also eliminates the volume of applications such as music, games and more. In this way we can do whatever we want with our phone, without the fear that it will start some kind of sound.
It provides you easy and comfortable operation with Android device.

AudioRecorder records in linear PCM format (wav files).
Likewise, AMR and AAC compressed formats are supported as long as they are offered by your device.
A peakmeter with a VU-Overload indicator is present.
For linear recording, the sampling rate and a digital volume control can be set.
A linear recording can be paused and resumed.
Recordings are stored in folders that can be configured using the month and year in the name.
A list of recent recordings is available as well as a small player to listen to recordings.
Android API Level 10 (2.3.3 GINGERBREAD_MR1) or higher is required for recording in AMR wideband or AAC format.
I can not guarantee that all sample rates, codecs and container formats will work on all devices.

"I wanted to make a work that would represent and reflect on the activity performed by the mapping authority. The need for a stable reference is essential in all kinds of map making, and in relating the map to the real world. Parts of our globe moves in relation to each other (continental drift, earth tide), the globe itself spins at a variable speed and its axis of rotation may change. All of this makes it hard to determine a stable reference point on earth itself. As in ancient times, we look to the stars for navigation. Using distant quasar stars and a measurement technique called VLBI (Very Long Baseline Interferometry), we can get this stable reference. This reference is used to calculate earth surface positions in relation to satellites (e.g. for GPS) down to millimeter precision.
What is artistically interesting about this (apart from working with a signal that originated more than a billion years ago) is the fact that the signal from the quasars is extremely noisy. It is buried in cosmic background noise, and furthermore, the signal itself can be characterized as white noise. Looking for a needle in a haystack would be relatively easy… I find it deeply poetic that we as humans have developed techniques to make sense of such a chaos. Perhaps we can also see this as a mirror of our capability to orient ourselves in the rich information flow we are exposed to every day as citizens of a modern society.
The composition and development of musical themes, sound structures and internal features of the sounds are all based on different aspects of the VLBI system as used in observation and calculation."
