I think this app is great! I've been using this alongside Torque for a couple years now. Everyone keeps comparing this to Torque. Torque is better suited for tuning, logs customization and advanced operations. This app's "no nonsense" design makes it easy to quickly run diagnostics. I can pull codes and check readings on a whim, and I often do. I don't wanna have to setup every vehicle I plug my Mx to just for battery voltage. I highly recommend this for the sake of simplicity.
Good, but unstable. Freezes every 10-20 minutes. More customizable features would benefit it greatly: e.g. analog gauges could be not just full circle, but semi-circle. Templates are saveable, but NOT loadable!!! Why should I save a beautiful gauge template if I cannot use it again for other gauges????
If there was any information on how to actually use this app (where are the log files stored? How do you start/stop logging?), and it didn't have the goofy registration... it would probably be pretty nice. It pops up a dialog saying I have to register before I can continue using it (really? it is free software), but I have no WiFi connection in the car. It also says I don't have to be connected to register; but with the tablet in the house and a good WiFi connection...there is no menu entry to register it. Brilliant.
Like I of the othèr posters mentioned this update literally makes the ODBLink LX practically worthless. The previous version allowed resetting the codes with the engine off but with the vehicle moving. Additionally the app no longer resets pending codes. This update is a useless piece of crap.
App no longer allows to clear codes while 'in motion" and it used too. I find myself using other devs apps now like torque because they don't restrict features based on motion.
With the update you must now unplug and replug the device every time you want to connect. It's a pain and so I don't use this much anymore. Earlier: Too bad I updated since I wanted to export a dashboard but now the other device cannot import it (and cannot update). Building all those gauges SUCKS but then I just wasted 6 hours trying to import. Things are a bit clumsy to access such as the trip meters. I would think the MPG on the dashboard should be resettable right there. The graphs numbers are super tiny and you can't open files later on the tiny graph limiting usefulness. Dashboard will leave your phone dead battery in 2hours even plugged in.
- Added a firmware recovery utility that can be used to load firmware on devices with invalid firmware.
- Added a preference to not show the communication error dialog.
- Fixed a bug that could case "Loading vehicle data" to appear when the app was running in the background.
Check/clear engine codes, view performance data, fuel economy, customize gauges.
