GoCoronaGo (GCG) is a digital contact tracing app for managing COVID-19 within institutions. It uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to advertise and collect a random device ID of other nearby GCG users. These anonymized "contact" IDs are sent to our backend server and stitched to form a temporal contact network. Analytics over this network helps evaluate various scores for a user. It also helps quickly identify primary, secondary and tertiary contacts with users who are later diagnosed as COVID positive.
GCG is designed ONLY FOR INSTITUTIONAL USE and WITHIN INDIA, e.g., a university campus, IT park, etc. GCG can only be used with an INVITATION CODE from a host institution that is signed up for the App. At this time, the pilot is limited to MEMBERS OF IISc and a FEW OTHER academic institutions in India. == A Wider Contact Network ==
Unlike other contact tracing apps which can alert only primary contacts, GCG is designed to trace secondary and tertiary contacts with COVID positive individuals. This is made possible by using a central server to stitch individual contacts together for an institution.
== Privacy-respecting ==
Choose what you share! The app uses Bluetooth technology to detect and share randomly generated unique IDs per device. These IDs do not contain any personal information. Users can optionally choose to share mobile numbers and GPS location information for extra features.
== Proximity Alerts and Custom Scans ==
Two's a company, three's a crowd! The App alerts you if you are proximate to more than a certain number of other GCG users. This notification helps you practise social distancing if you inadvertently stray close to several other GCG users. If you wish, you can also launch a custom Bluetooth scan and visually see how many other users are close by. All distance and count estimates are approximate.
== Proximity Scores and Plots ==
GCG's backend analytics gives you feedback on your extent of social distancing over the whole day, through an aggregate social distancing score. You can also see a plot of the number of other GCG users you were close to for each hour in the past 24 hours. Of course all of this uses anonymized data. We only communicate using your unique IDs but don't know who you are.

Stay informed! We keep you updated on the latest research on COVID-19, debunk COVID myths, provide India and State COVID statistics, and remind you to follow safe practices with our notifications. Our alerts will also help you play your part in social distancing and contact tracing.
== Designed and Built at IISc ==
Contribute to our understanding of epidemics. Data collected from the app will be used to build predictive temporal network models for research on disease spreading. These decision-support tools will be crucial to help institutions get back on track as part of the lockdown.
== Institutions Welcome! ==
GCG is for institutions, not just individuals. We are deploying our app in dense work environments in India which have a high risk of spreading the virus as the lockdown ends. At this time, the pilot is limited to the IISc campus and a few other academic institutions in India. Over time, this will be made available to other interested institutions.
== Prominent Disclosure ==
GoCoronaGo will collect Bluetooth-based location data in the form of other nearby device IDs or Beacons to enable contact scanning and tracing, even when the app is closed or not in use. This is essential for contact tracing.
