The trial period was fataly short and did not allow enough time to get an clear idea about the availability of the AI. I did go ahead and subscribe fully and immediately found that I could use the voice chat feature. The microphone icon seems to change when tapped and it waves around but it doesn't pick up my voice at all. I've tried it with and without headphones. On speakerphone. Just talking into the phones on board mic. It. Just won't work. I contacted support and got back a terse reply

I enjoyed the conversation experience. The program comes across as well informed but offers a lot of incorrect answers as truthful. It also seems to get confused about what we were discussing periodically. Even with these issues, it's amazing how human like the conversation seems to flow. There's obviously been a great deal of effort put into the how this AI interacts with people. I tried to find a starting point to learn Latin, but got wrong languages and translations. Not trustworthy enough.

Being limited to 35 messages for the free model is something that feels quite limiting in its potential. I've had such messages that repeated themselves and I didn't know this until I noticed the "You're out of credits" message in the text box which responded accordingly. Additionally, if I discuss foreign language options, it adds a slap in the face to require a subscription on top of that. Had no meaningful conversation and extremely less than helpful.

Please note that for just $9.99 per month you get both Unlimited conversations and you can talk in any language that you want - that single subscription covers everything. Large language models that power Emerson are quite expensive to run, we have to keep prices at that level but we're always looking for ways to improve!
