ZapLock turns any folder on your phone, SD card or synced cloud folder into a vault that opens only for the people you allow.
Choose a folder. ZapLock encrypts its contents where they already are — same name, same place — and from then on reading it takes a ZapQR sign-in from a device your account has enrolled.
NO VAULT PASSWORD
There is nothing to remember, nothing to send over chat, nothing to leak. Opening a folder is a sign-in: the passkey or approval you already use for ZapQR. Access is a grant, and grants can be taken back.
A KEY IN TWO HALVES
Each vault's key is split. One half is wrapped to this phone's Android Keystore — StrongBox where the hardware has it — and never leaves it. The other half is released by auth.zapqr.ai after you sign in, and only while your account is still on the vault's list. Neither half alone opens anything, and the server never holds a key that does.
SHARE BY ACCOUNT, REVOKE IN A SECOND
Add someone by their ZapQR account and they get their own key on their own device the first time they unlock. Revoke and their share is deleted — anything they have open locks within about a second, not at the next sync.
TWO WAYS TO OPEN
Open in ZapLock: files are decrypted one at a time into a private scratch area, shown in your usual viewer, and wiped when you lock or leave the app.
Open in place: the folder becomes a normal folder for every app on the phone until you lock it, the auto-lock timer fires, or the owner revokes your access.
THE SAME VAULT EVERYWHERE
The on-disk format is identical on Android, macOS, iPhone and iPad. A folder protected on your laptop opens on your phone; a portable drive or a synced Dropbox folder carries its protection with it.
WHY ALL FILES ACCESS
ZapLock encrypts folders you choose wherever they live — Downloads, an SD card, a synced cloud folder — and it must read and rewrite those files by path to do it. That permission is used for nothing else: no scanning, no indexing, no uploading. File contents never leave your device.
