Gives me a headache When you have an item selected, there is a constant light circling it. It's not only distracting, it gives you motion sickness. Otherwise, I would have liked to play.
Matryoshka Escape (this is an update, so it's Matryoshka 2) is a fine bit of design, with some superb puzzles and surprising animation. The title refers to the famous Russian 'doll-within-a-doll [within a doll]' toy, which is a concept that can operate on more than one, literal level. Metaphorical parallels? Allegorical symbolism? This app's analogically loaded! Anyway, as with Kotorinosu's Sphinx, Gamma, and Delta escapes, there is ingenious thinking here, so if it takes a while to solve each section don't be discouraged, stick with it. Keep thinking. The puzzles are tricky, but they ARE logical. If you're an escape game connoisseur savour the challenge, because quality like this is rare in these times when it's considered admirable and acceptable to have 'Can't Spell, Can't Think, Can't Count, Can't Be Bothered, Don't Care', tattooed proudly across your forehead. Thank you for bothering and caring, Kotorinosu. I care too: 5 Stars.
Broken Some of the puzzles are BROKEN. I can figure out the solution, and I even checked YouTube videos to see what I was doing wrong. I'm entering the right solutions to puzzles but it's not registering. This has happened twice now, once on the Matryoshka head twist puzzle, and now I'm stuck on the tummy button, and can't move past, even though the solution is pretty clear. I live these types of games, and this one looks nice, but sadly doesn't work properly.
Excellent puzzle but far to difficult for my brain. Had to look at a walkthrough so many times and even then I struggled to fully understand it all. But I did get to the end.
I like the ending and it is the first escape game on my phone that doesnt have Japanese text. I've been able to figure out most of it but I needed to use an online help for 2 times and also a 3rd time since I unlocked something by just randomly tapping buttons on the object and not knowing what I did. It's not too long and straight-forward, as in, no complex commands needed. It is definitely a good little gsme for even people like me who aren't fans of escape games
the one with turning the doll took me a while cause it doesn't fully turn 180 degrees, like how the maze says.. but i like the surreal ending..
