Great course! It has a very simple interface with little options but it works very well. I have multiple chess tactics trainers and also another course like Coach Jay's Chess Academy but this app is better for me. Coach Jay's course is cleary more targetted to children. That's problably the reason why I had difficulties to motivate myself to use the app. Learningchess for some reason is making me addicted to it and it's like: " just one more lesson!". The explanations and theory are very good.I tested the free version and decided to buy the first level course due to it teaching me something that no app ever did before. Maybe other apps will also teach you the same later on in the course and I simply didn't get far enough. What the app taught me in one of the first lesson is to recognize the squares the knight can move to at first glance. Normally I would visualize each possible move the knight could make but know after a few lessons I already see almost in one instance which squares the knight can move to. After I learned that I decided this is the app for me and purchases level 1. The price is also very reasonable. I wanted to buy the whole course in one time but because you buy access for one year I thought it would be better to buy it per level. I have no idea how long it will take me to finish each level so that seemed like the best strategy. Buying the levels separatly will cost €5 more in the end but I believe the developers deserve it. Obviously my review is based on a small part of the beginnner lessons but I have faith the rest of the course will be of the same high quality. The app shows that the developers wanted to create a clean, high quality app for a reasonable price and they succeeded! Compliments to the team behind this app.
Great learning tool for chess Very happy that the makers of learningchess gave me access to the additional intermediate and advanced learning as compensation for my troubles early on getting access to my learning material
On my small phonescreen the board is just too small to see and enter moves.
Gets only two levels. Have to pay for the rest. Even then, it is a fantastic app. The best Chess app. I am 40 and didn't know Chess. I sat with my 11 year old niece and we together learned the basics. Plain English.
Uninstalling This app doesn't make it clear that you will need to purchase each and every lesson which is rather misleading.
Have to pay for every single lesson
New tactics trainer! Spanish/Czech languages
some minor fixes
