Albert Barnes was an American theologian born in 1798 in New York. He studied theology and was ordained as a Presbyterian minister by the presbytery of Elizabethtown, New Jersey, in 1825. He was an eloquent preacher and very famous for his well-known expository work of the Bible. His notes and commentaries of the Bible have had a big circulation in Europe and America.

Ratings and reviews

love the app except it seems to drag when i scroll or even pause for several second. After i use for few minutes i get a message that APP is not responding and it shuts down.Annoying. Content is great but using APP can be frustrating to use. I think i will uninstall and try different APP. if it were not for this I'd give it a 5 star.

I love Barnes' commentary. It's my commentary of choice; therefore , I was excited to learn that his notes are now in an app I can use on my phone. But everytime I'm reading his notes in this app, it will jump to the next chapter or the previous chapter, and it takes a while for me to make my way back to where I was reading--not to mention having to slog thru the full page ads that pop up while I'm reading. You can do better than this.

I enjoy and appreciate his commentary. I only wish that the app had a third tap! It is tedious to try to scroll down to say verse 42. Even so, I still use the app daily and enjoy his clarity.
