About this app

Alerts for Reddit allows you to receive phone notifications for hot new posts on your favorite subreddits, by your favorite users, or on threads you want to track. Whether you're tracking /r/worldnews or /r/birdswitharms, your phone will notify you when a new post has quickly risen to the top of a subreddit. For user tracking, you can get notifications for new posts and/or comments by any public user on Reddit. And for threads, you can get alerts whenever someone posts something new in response to a specific comment or post!

Features:

- Add/remove subreddits, users, or threads at any time to start/stop seeing notifications

- Limit notifications by keywords, so you only see the alerts you care about

- No need to link your reddit account - you can subscribe for notifications to any public subreddit, user, or thread.

- Add up to 3 notification subscriptions of your choosing for free; upgrade to Premium to receive notifications for more than 3.

- Set the notification frequency for subreddits: "Low" if you only want breaking news, "High" if you want notifications for all hot posts, or "All" to get notified for all new posts.

- Set the notification frequency for each user: "Posts only" or "Posts and Comments"

- Got a Reddit app on your phone? Notifications will launch you straight to the app. No app? Notifications will bring you to Reddit via the browser.

- Never miss the posts you care about!

This app is exactly what I needed. I use it to keep track of a couple subreddits to keep up with sales on pc parts. The only thing I wish this app would have is the ability to blacklist certain words. For example, keyword is cpu, but I want to avoid posts with the words cooler. This way I would be able to narrow alerts to just the cpu and not cpu coolers as well (something I am not looking for).

Super lightweight, simple yet effective. I use this for r/watchexchange to be notified when people post watches for sale. Most of the good ones are sold within minutes so this app allows me to get first in line. I love the ability to be able to specify key words as well. Only improvement I could want would be to allow the use of wildcards (or even regex) in the keywords. Great app, thanks!

It's a solid app foundation, but it doesn't actually alert me much at all. It'll sometimes notify me if the alerts I set up, but it'll usually be like an hour late, and only works about 30% of the time. I have everything on their optimal settings as well.

- Updated subscription validation and error handling

- Updated libraries, which now require a minimum Android version of 4.4.
