The phrase “Avas Habaru” in Dhivehi is also used where the term “Breaking News” is applied in the press. The title chosen for the newspaper is a media-related name that is easily pronounced phonetically.
The newspaper strives to facilitate the full potential of the Freedom of Expression guaranteed under all the rights and principles enshrined in the Constitution of Maldives – with fairness, proficiency and free of influence.
