Family Gem is a tool that let you create complete genealogical trees.
You can insert names, dates, places, events and photos into the profile of family members and foremost the relationship between them, and automagically your family tree will take shape.
Family Gem can exchange trees with other programs through a GEDCOM file.

Ratings and reviews

Great little app, but very memory hungry. Unless you disable backups, it will backup all the data literally every time you use and close it. I just deleted all but the last 3, and my phone went from 99% memory usage to 66% If you do use backup, which is a good idea, of course, go in frequently and delete all but the last 1-3 backups. File names start with date, so it's easy to do. Address for support should be somewhere in the app, not just here. A user's guide would be very helpful, too.

Neat app! Haven't been using it for long, but awesome for family trees in stories. Saw another review that recommended a "make an account" option, and I agree. I don't want to lose all the entries I've made. Also, I love that you can add other details about the individual. Would love more options for that like zodiac signs, ethnicity, and maybe even a separate age category (since sometimes the year in a fictional place is undefined or you know a person's age, but not their birthday).

The overall app is okay for what its intended for but there is room for improvement. It would be really nice if the location of each family member would be visible from the actual "tree" view just like the dates instead of having to click on each member to view. It would also be nice if it would have a nice "print" or "download" layout when selected because when the whole "tree" is downloaded everything is bunched together and hard to read.
