About this app

HyreKit Companion turns a phone into your rental counter.

Scan the code on a machine to hand it out against the right booking. Scan it again when it comes back. Engine hours are logged to that exact unit, and the service history follows the machine, not the product listing.

This app works only with a Shopify store running the HyreKit rental app. It is free.

HAND OUT
Scan the code on the item. The app finds today's booking for that product. If there is one, it is picked for you — confirm and the item is on its way. If several customers are waiting for the same type of machine, choose the right one. Add engine hours if the machine has a meter.

TAKE BACK
Scan the same item. The app knows it is out and shows who has it and for how long. Enter the closing engine hours and leave a condition note if something needs attention. The hours are added to that unit's total, and its rental count goes up by one.

LABEL YOUR GEAR IN MINUTES
You do not need a special printer or a matching label. Stick any barcode or QR sticker on a machine, open Add item, choose the product, and scan. That unit now exists with that code. Keep scanning down the row — the app remembers what you are labelling and counts as you go.

If a sticker is already on another machine, the app says so instead of quietly overwriting it.

BUILT FOR A YARD, NOT A DESK
One large scan button. Works with gloves. Confirmations are buffered if the signal drops and sync themselves when it returns.

ONE DEVICE, ONE KEY
Pair a phone with a one-time code from your HyreKit admin. Every device carries its own key — if a phone is lost or a colleague leaves, revoke that device from the same page. No shared passwords.

SPEAKS YOUR LANGUAGE
In addition to English, the app is available in 10 languages: Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal), German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Finnish, Estonian and Russian. It follows your phone's language automatically.

REQUIREMENTS
- A Shopify store with the HyreKit app installed
- Companion turned on in HyreKit (Apps > HyreKit > Companion app)
- Android 8.0 or later, with a camera

HyreKit Companion does not collect personal data about your customers, and it never sends your data anywhere except your own shop.
